Queen Mary has again proved that Australia is never far from her heart.
The Tasmanian-born monarch has shared some sweet snaps of her family decorating their Christmas tree at Amalienborg Palace, revealing a hidden detail that pays homage to her birth country.
Amid snow-covered baubles, and frosted reindeer, royal fans spotted a simple white model of the Sydney Opera House on their festive tree.
King Frederik is seen getting involved in the festivities along with their four children; Crown Prince Christian, 20, Princess Isabella, 18, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, who are 14.
Each of the royal children has a bauble with their name etched on them.
Queen Mary spent her childhood in Taroona, Hobart, before moving to Denmark in 2001.
Royal fans were quick to pick up on Queen Mary’s tribute to Australia, commending the family on the fine details.
“Love the nod to Queen Mary’s homeland,” one commented.
Another added: “How beautiful is this. Nice little detail about the Sydney Opera House.”
“The Sydney Opera House Christmas ball! What a cool tree,” replied a third.
The royal family also shared a short video of their Christmas decorating, which includes the palace dog.
In the heartwarming clip, Princess Isabella and Princess Josephine join their dad for a traditional dance, lifting their arms up to form a bridge, skipping round, and laughing.
Danish outlet Billed-Bladet described the steps as Les Lancier – a routine taught in high schools across Denmark.
Prince Christian climbed the ladder to decorate the top of the tree and the trio practised their moves.
King Frederik and Queen Mary also have personalised balls and another bauble looked like a replica of the palace.
Many on social media were thrilled to see the royal family making such a relatable Christmas video.
One viewer even noticed in the clip the camera zoomed into a broken bauble that had ben dropped on the floor.
In August, Mary paid tribute to her Aussie roots during an appearance on the Danish show Søren Vester’s Garden.
The Queen has a gap in her official diary during December and royal fans are speculating if she may make a trip to spend some of the Christmas holidays with her family in Hobart.
