Prince Harry’s surprise stay with family during secret UK trip revealed

The Duke of Sussex stayed at Althorp House in Great Brington, Northampton, which was once the home of his mother Diana.

According to People magazine, Prince Harry stayed with his uncle Charles Spencer during a trip to the UK last week to attend the funeral of his uncle Lord Robert Fellowes.

The Duke of Sussex stayed at Althorp House in Great Brington, Northampton, which was once the home of his mother Diana.

The Princess of Wales, who died in 1997, is buried on an island in the centre of a lake at Althorp.

Prince Harry hopes Princess Catherine can help bring the royal family together after his surprise appearance alongside Prince William at their uncle’s funeral, according to reports.

The Duke of Sussex reunited with his estranged brother at the Norfolk service for Lord Fellows but the two sat apart and were not seen to speak, the Sun reported.

With his 40th birthday approaching on September 15, Prince Harry is said to be planning “about maybe reaching out to Kate”.

“It’s on milestones like this when he really misses her,” an insider told OK Magazine. “She helped plan his 30th birthday and he feels bad that she won’t be involved and would love to catch up with her and see how everything is.”

“It’s not just Kate, he misses everyone and feels guilty that Archie and Lili don’t have a relationship with their only cousins.

“It pains him that there is still so much anger on both sides and although it would be a complete shock to everyone, Harry is willing to have peace talks with them and try and work out their issues.”

Princess Catherine, meanwhile, also wants to reconcile with Prince Harry, who is “emotionally broken” in the United States with his wife Meghan Markle, and two children Archie and Lilibet.

Despite her own cancer battle, the 42-year-old is reportedly “worried sick” about Prince Harry and is willing to “risk the wrath” of the Firm to make peace.

“She pushing for forgiveness and worries the royals are being too harsh,” a royal insider told Radar Online.

“Kate has been shielded from the increasing drama with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for quite a while now because people just don’t want to stress her out as she deals with her health.”

“But she doesn’t want to be out of the loop anymore... Kate looks at Harry and she sees a lost soul.”

“She’s still incredibly fond of him and saddened that it’s come to this situation where he’s completely cut himself off from the whole family and there now seems to be this wall that can’t be broken down.”

Royal expert Tom Quinn, however, believes Ms Markle stands in the way of a reunion over her demands of an apology before any peace talks could move forward.

“He wants to reconcile with his brother so that the children can have some kind of a relationship, but he and Meghan still think that a grovelling apology needs to come from William and Kate first,” Mr Quinn told The Mirror.

“Harry has spoken to friends about his sadness at not having a closer relationship with his niece and nephews, but what is upsetting him even more is the prospect of Lilibet and Archie having no relationship at all with George, Charlotte and Louis.”

“He has implied that if he gets an apology from his family then he is prepared to forgive, but that just isn’t going to happen.”

WILLIAM AND HARRY REUNITED

Feuding princes Harry and William reunited at their uncle’s funeral this week after the Duke of Sussex made a “secret” dash to the UK, it’s been revealed.

Harry, 39, and William, 42, are said to have kept their distance at the funeral of Lord Robert Fellowes on August 28.

The brothers apparently attended the funeral “discreetly” and sat at the back of the church in Norfolk.

A local told The Sun: “We never saw them speak to each other and they kept their distance.”

Another source said they only saw the brothers at the end of the service at St Mary’s Church in Snettisham.

“I didn’t know they were there. They arrived very discreetly,” the source said, according to The Sun.

Harry is believed to have flown from Los Angeles International Airport on August 27.

He and William have barely spoken to each other since the Duke and his wife Meghan Markle quit royalty for a new life in the US. They walked together on the grounds of Windsor after the death of Queen Elizabeth but have not appeared together since the King’s Coronation in May last year.

Fellowes, who was their mother Diana’s brother-in-law, died last month aged 82. He died of undisclosed causes on July 29.

He worked in banking before joining the Royal Household in 1977.

Fellowes married Diana’s sister Lady Jane Spencer the following year, during which Diana was a bridesmaid.

He became one of Queen Elizabeth’s most trusted advisers after he was appointed Private Secretary from 1990 to 1999, helping her navigate her most challenging periods including the death of Princess Diana.

He was also forced to deny claims by Harrods owner Mohammed al Fayed that he was behind Diana’s 1997 car crash.

Fellowes also featured in Netflix drama The Crown, where he was played by Andrew Havill. He was related to Sarah, the Duchess of York and Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.

Representatives for Harry and William would not comment on the reunion.
