An awkward moment unfolded between Meghan Markle and a woman following a charity polo match Prince Harry and his team won in Florida over the weekend.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Royal Salute Polo Challenge held at the Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington and were all smiles when Meghan handed him the trophy after his team was victorious at the event.

The couple even shared a kiss on the stage as the duchess, dressed in an elegant halter-neck cream dress, posed next to him and his teammates.

A couple of women, who were equally beautifully dressed, then joined the couple on stage to pose with the trophy. However, it appears Meghan did not want them to stand next to Prince Harry.

Meghan appears to move woman away from Harry during social event

In an uncomfortable exchange caught on camera by the @sussexroyal_hm fan page, Meghan could be seen requesting the woman – who attempted to position herself next to Prince Harry – to stand on the other side so, it appears, she could remain in the middle of the group photo.

“So do you want to come over here?” she asked the woman, while gesturing for her to move. “Do you want to go over here?”

Although the woman was already holding the trophy next to Prince Harry, she then had to duck beneath it to get to the other side before photographers snapped away.

“Lovely,” Meghan could then be heard saying.

Some followers on Instagram also noticed the exchange.

“Why did Meghan Markle push the beautiful Black lady around?” wondered one, while another said, “Meghan could have moved a side and let the lady stand next to him.”

Despite the tense moment, the duke and duchess looked as happy and relaxed as ever.

“They were very loving with each other,” an onlooker told People magazine. “Meghan looked really happy.”

“They held hands as they arrived and talked to everyone there,” the source added. “It was Harry’s night to shine and Meghan was very supportive.”

The event mirrored the kiss the couple shared at the polo back in 2018.

In one of their first appearances just weeks from their wedding in Windsor Castle, the couple attended a charity match at the nearby Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club, and delighted the crowd when they shared a kiss.
