Meghan Markle continues to flirt with a return to Instagram, with a behind-the-scenes image from Suits shared by co-star Patrick Adams that has fuelled hopes of a series revival.
Adams, who describes himself on the platform as “the guy from that show you’re watching on that app because that girl married that prince”, shared a series of photos from the hit TV sitcom.
“I miss my friends,” he captioned the series of images.
He posted a black and white profile photo of Ms Markle, 42, along with another photo of the Duchess alongside co-star Sarah Rafferty.
“I miss you with your friends,” Rafferty replied in the comments.
The cryptic series of on-set photos, which Adams prefaced by saying “Let’s get serious. Seriously,” will fuel speculation of a Suits return or reboot after exploding on Netflix with record-breaking viewership figures.
Adams added that he misses “each and every one of them”, alongside photos of co-stars Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman, Max Topplin and Gina Torres.
Ms Markle started as Rachel Zane in seven seasons of Suits alongside Adams, who played her love interest Mike Ross. She filmed her last season in 2017 just days before announcing her engagement to Prince Harry.
Adams’ post quickly racked up more than 300,000 likes and prompted calls from fans to “get the band back together”.
“I’m so ready for a Suits reboot,” said one commenter.
“Oh how I miss Suits,” added Australian surfer Brinkley Davies.
It’s the latest in the series of behind-the-scenes photos of Ms Markle and the Suits cast that Adams has shared in the past year.
Suits executive producer Gene Klein has been teasing a revival or reunion for months, telling TVLine in June that he’s raised it with series creator Aaron Korsh.
“In this era of reboots and reunions and all this other stuff, that I’m expecting a call at some point,” he said, adding it might not be “possible” for Ms Markle to take part.
Korsh said that while there wasn’t anything “in the works”, but that he didn’t rule it out.
“Strike would have to end, some network or streamer would have to reach out and then we would have to collectively want to. Which is no small thing …” he said in a social media post.
Speculation has swirled for months that the Duchess is on the cusp of a return to both Instagram and acting, with the emergence of the @Meghan account that posted a previously unseen childhood photo of the Duchess, but has since been silent.
The rare, single-name handle usually reserved for celebrities, and the profile picture of a pink dahlia — the nickname given to her by mother Doria Ragland — led the account to gain a following despite, now, having no posts.
Ms Markle teased in her now-infamous interview with The Cut last year that she was secretly “getting back … on Instagram”, while the hiring of Hollywood powerbrokers this year has been seen as the first step in planning a return to the screen.
