Meghan Markle ‘furious’ after birthday ‘car crash’ interview as Prince Harry in ‘midlife crisis’

Meghan Markle had a ‘meltdown’ over her 43rd birthday TV appearance, as a ‘bored’ Prince Harry wants to return to the UK ‘on one condition’.

Meghan Markle breaks down in tears over 'unfair criticism'

Meghan Markle was reportedly left “furious” after a birthday interview with a “bored” Prince Harry went awry.

The Duchess of Sussex is alleged to have thrown “a bit of a strop” after her sit-down interview with CBS Sunday morning took an unexpected turn into her “mental health” issues.

It comes as friends of Prince Harry, who body language experts said felt uncomfortable during the interview, feared he would not be able to return to the UK for the funeral of his uncle.

“After the interview was over she was apparently screaming to the producers, very, very annoyed at what they had asked her,” said Royal author Angela Levin.

“You mustn’t do that with Meghan because she’s in control. But you could see she couldn’t contain her anger, her fury.”

The interview, ostensibly to promote the couple’s latest project, The Parents Network, went off script when host Jane Pauley began “dancing around” Ms Markle’s past trauma.

“I can see you’re uncomfortable with me even going there,” Ms Pauley said.

Ms Markle said she hasn’t really “scraped the surface” of the levels of “pain” and “trauma” she had experienced since joining the royal family.

“I understand why you are though. I wasn’t expecting it, but I understand why you are,” Ms Markle responded to the CBS interviewer.

“So, if me voicing what I have overcome will save someone, or encourage someone in their life to really genuinely check in on them, and not assume that the appearance is good and so everything is okay, then that’s worth it. I’ll take a hit for that.”

While Ms Markle took the hit on camera, behind the scenes she “it was a real car crash”, Ms Levin told British broadcaster Dan Wootton.

“I imagine that’s the sort of question, she wasn’t there for that, because she said ‘I did not expect this’. But you could see she couldn’t contain her anger and fury,” she said.

Prince Harry, meanwhile, wasn’t welcome to weigh into the fray when interjecting with attempts at support for his wife.

Prince Harry reportedly ‘bored’ with ‘difficult’ Meghan Markle, ‘never sees’ his friends

“She couldn’t stand Harry speaking. She would look at him with such harsh eyes and such a terrible expression on her face because she didn’t want him to talk, I imagine,” she said.

“He is really lost at the moment … I think that he’s in a very, very bad way”.

Body language expert Judi James said Prince Harry appeared “bored and disengaged” during the joint appearance.

“We see him in the clip gazing off into the distance with a serious facial expression while his wife tells a much more sociable and emotional story,” James told the Mirror.

As he approaches his 40th birthday, royal experts say Prince Harry appears to be in the throes of a midlife crisis.

Tom Quinn, author of Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir from Queen Mary to Meghan Markle, added to the outlet that Prince Harry misses his life as an official working member of the Crown.

“He is trained from birth to do one thing only — to be a royal and he has thrown that away. His 100 per cent support for his wife and her business ventures has never wavered, but he doesn’t really have very much to do on a day-to-day basis” Quinn said.

“After he’s taken the dog for a walk and maybe gone for a drive, he has nothing to do other than support Meghan.”

“When it comes to his relatives in the U.K., he is hugely conflicted. He is upset that he’s out in the cold more than ever and is beginning to think that his endless demands for apologies will have to be put on the back burner if some kind of truce is ever to be achieved.”

The Duke of Sussex is said to want to travel home for the funeral of his uncle, Robert Fellowes, but fears the “one condition” that could allow the return would not be met.

“In normal times it would be unimaginable that Harry would not be there to support Jane [his widow],” Prince Harry’s friend told The Daily Beast.

“Of course, he would want to be there. It will be a huge gathering of the Spencer clan.”

“But these are not normal times and it may well be that everyone feels Harry’s attendance would just create too much drama. It will be very sad for him if he can’t make it.”
