Meghan Markle and Gwyneth Paltrow shut down feud rumours after the latter was accused of mocking her pal’s “With Love, Meghan” lifestyle series.
Responding to a fan question via Instagram Tuesday about how the “Iron Man” was comprehending her alleged “beef” with the Duchess of Sussex, she responded, “I genuinely do not understand this at all whatsoever.”
Paltrow then moved the camera to show Meghan, who appeared to be eating a snack, saying, “Do you understand this?”
Meghan mumbled and shrugged her shoulders before taking a bite of her food.
The duo addressed feud rumours after critics attempted to pit them against each other over the weekend.
Last weekend, Paltrow took to social media to share a quirky video of herself making breakfast in her pyjamas.
The Goop founder began the clip by taking a sip of her coffee before putting biscuits in the oven, doing a high kick and petting her dog.
She then started cooking eggs before concluding the video with a plate filled with eggs, bacon, biscuits and jam.
“My cleaner take on a classic breakfast: gluten-free buttermilk biscuits, not-so-perfectly cooked over-easy eggs, and crispy bacon #boyfriendbreakfast,” Paltrow captioned the clip.
Fans assumed that Paltrow was filming a parody of Meghan’s much-maligned Netflix series, which premiered earlier this month.
“Gwyneth Paltrow continues to throw shade & I’m here for it! No makeup in her actual kitchen!” one person wrote, referring to how Markle filmed her series in a rental home instead of her A$25 million Montecito, Calif., mansion.
“Love this. No fake house, fake kitchen, fake hair extensions, fake friends just your beautiful true self. Such a breath of fresh air to see,” a second added.
“Gwyneth is so genuine what a breath of fresh air compared to Markle,” another chimed in.
Paltrow, meanwhile, approved of Meghan’s lifestyle pivot, including her As Ever brand.
“Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try,” she told Vanity Fair earlier this month.
The actresses’ friendship dates back to 2023 when they were spotted having dinner with their respective spouses.
Meanwhile, Meghan promised to dive into some major “girl talk” as she dropped the trailer for her new podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, unveiled her rebranded podcast to the world earlier this month after inking a deal with Lemonada Media in February 2024.
The new deal took place after Spotify decided not to renew the steep A$32 million contract for a second season of her now-defunct podcast, Archetypes.
The former actress’ preview was premiered by People, in which she tells fans what they can expect from the eight weekly episodes, out on April 8.
“I’m Meghan, and this is Confessions of a Female Founder, a show where I chat with female entrepreneurs and friends about the sleepless nights, the lessons learned and the laser focus that got them to where they are today,” she said in the clip.
“We’re diving into the highs — and the lows — and the kind of advice that turns small ideas into billion-dollar businesses. And of course, we’re going to get some girl talk!”
The snippet included some sound bites from the podcast, which saw several guests speak about their own business successes and challenges.
“It just started climbing and climbing, and there was 5,000, 10,000 people on our website,” one guest shares, while another tells Markle, “I’m broke, and no one is calling me.”
“I knew in that moment that I’d rather stand for something than sell a whole ton of product and stand for nothing,” another guest recalled.
Markle hinted that business will not be the only topic discussed in the episodes.
“Are you saying you’re not single now? Have I missed something in the past couple weeks? What’s happening?” Meghan asks one of her guests.
“And through it all, I’m building a business of my own, and getting all sorts of practical advice along the way that I’m very excited to share with you. So join me for Confessions of a Female Founder from Lemonada Media, which by the way, is also female-founded. Launching April 8, wherever you get your podcasts,” she says in the preview.
“Let’s do this, ladies.”
“This is not Shark Tank, think of this as ‘dolphin tank.’ These are very friendly waters, it’s all going to be good,” Meghan said in the preview.
Lemonada will be distributing her previous Spotify podcast series to all platforms.
Archetypes, which explored the labels that hold women back, was the only project that Meghan and Prince Harry produced for Spotify during their Two-and-a-half-year partnership.
