Meghan Markle accused of faking activity with kids for social media

The royal-turned-influencer has caused a stir with her latest Instagram post, with eagle-eyed users spotting a suspicious detail.

Fans are convinced that Meghan Markle faked making homemade St. Patrick’s Day waffles for her kids after she posted videos of herself allegedly preparing the breakfast.

The Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram Stories on Monday to film herself whipping up some fresh green batter in a bowl before pouring the mixture into a waffle iron.

The special skillet she used, which appears to be a Cuisinart Waring Pro WMK200 Belgian Waffle Maker, has grooves that section each waffle into quadrants.

However, eagle-eyed netizens noticed that when Markle plated the meal for Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, the waffles were flat and didn’t have ridges matching up to the appliance.

“For the kids …” she captioned a photo of the questionable green waffle topped with a kiwi slice, two blueberries and some whipped cream from a can.

The inconsistencies had fans speculating whether Markle actually made the festive waffles for her children.

“Meghan Markle’s relentless compulsion to lie about everything is baffling — even over something as trivial as a waffle. She posted a video of herself using a waffle maker with a divider, yet the so-called ‘homemade’ waffle she presented looked exactly like a store-bought one, missing the dividers that should have been there,” one person wrote on X Tuesday.

“Wouldn’t be surprising at all! The effort she puts into staging even the simplest things is almost impressive. Imagine going through all that just to fake a waffle — it’s like she can’t help herself,” a second person agreed.

“She didn’t fresh make them for her kids. She used these frozen waffles,” a third person wrote on X along with a photo of Kellogg’s green apple Dragon Waffles. “Why the big deal? Because her post is showing she made it all from scratch. She is a total manipulative liar. About everything.”

“I immediately saw the difference when I saw the video. I couldn’t grasp the reason to lie about waffles. What kind of person needs to do that? Meghan Markle is a walking scam,” another added.

The As Ever founder, 43, also shared another image of a plate of waffles she allegedly whipped up for herself and Prince Harry, 40, to enjoy for the holiday.

The dish consisted of two-quarters of a waffle stacked up and garnished with strawberry slices and a dollop of cream.

“ … and us! Happy St. Patrick’s Day,” she captioned the snap, which also featured what looked like an iced matcha latte in a highball glass with a straw.

The With Love, Meghan host explained why she decided to dye the waffle batter green, sharing in one of the videos that the Sussex family “love[s] a theme!”

Markle’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
