New book: Meghan doubles down on claim royals spoke of ‘concerns’ about Archie’s skin colour

Meghan Markle alleged two royals discussed concerns about the colour of son Archie’s skin, Sussex sympathetic Omid Scobie is set to reveal in his new book Endgame.

The race row that erupted when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry claimed an unidentified member of the Royal Household speculated about how dark their son Archie’s skin might be, is set to fire up again.

British journalist Omid Scobie is tipped to dropped a fresh wave of truth bombs in his new book, Endgame, which hits the shelves this week.

Among them is a claim from Meghan that there were two royals who discussed concerns about Achie’s skin colour before he was born, not just the one the couple mentioned in their controversial sit-down interview with US talk show queen Oprah Winfrey.

UK media reported that the book would reveal that Meghan named the two people who took part in the discussion in private letters with King Charles.

The Sun reported the book did not disclose their identity, although Scobie claimed to know who they were.

It was not known if the second accused person was a member of the Royal Family or someone who works for the family. However, they were a member of the Royal Household, the newspaper reported.

The book also has some revelations about King Charles and the real reason Meghan opted out of the coronation.

At the time, rumours circulated that Harry was concerned about security, while Meghan was upset after a letter from Charles ignored concerns about her mental health.

It was also suggested that Meghan chose to stay in California with their two children because the coronation fell on the same day as their son’s fourth birthday.

However, Mr Scobie claims the Duchess of Sussex stayed home because she simply didn’t want to “dive back into the soap opera of the royal court”.

The latest extract, published in a French magazine, paints a very different picture of the King than the caring father depicted in latest season of popular Netflix series The Crown.

It suggests Harry, Duke of Sussex, has given up hope of a reconciliation and claims the King gave his son the cold shoulder when Harry visited London earlier this year.

“I’m ready to forget. Get an apology or explanation? At this point, who cares, right?” the prince said in an interview.

The book also claims Charles told other members of the royal family not to trust his son following the publication of Spare, Harry’s explosive memoir, in January this year.

An earlier extract claimed Harry was left in the dark about his late grandmother’s failing health and quoted a former palace aide who said: “They just didn’t want Meghan there”.

Despite the icy relations, Mr Scobie claims Harry and Meghan keep the King up to date with their family life by sending photos and videos.

The couple also sent a recording of their children, Archie and Lilibet, singing happy birthday when their grandfather turned 75 on November 14.

Mr Scobie has a reputation for being sympathetic to the Sussexes and was one of two writers who worked with Harry and Meghan to write their biography, Finding Freedom, in 2020.

However, he recently took to X, formerly Twitter, to deny allegations he’s “Meg’s pal”.

“Let’s get this nonsense out of the way — Endgame is a book about the current state of the British royal family. It’s not ‘Harry and Meghan’s book’,” he wrote.

“The Sussexes have nothing to do with it, their story is a small part of a much bigger one.”

Endgame will be released on November 28.
