Meghan Markle has confirmed she does not aspire to be the next president of the United States, however she just might have a memoir in her.
The Duchess of Sussex appeared on friend Jamie Kern Lima’s podcast for an intimate and wide-ranging makeup-free chat.
“Would you ever run for office?” Kern Lima asked.
“No,” the Duchess of Sussex replied.
“Never. Oh, God.
“I mean, you could say, ‘Never say never.’ No, I’m not interested in that. No,” Meghan finished emphatically putting an end to longstanding rumours.
However, when probed about the success of her husband Prince Harry’s memoir Spare and the experience of writing a children’s book, Meghan was a lot more open.
“Yes, maybe, for sure,” she said about penning another book.
“I love, right now, working on everything in this space of hospitality and home and entertaining and food and those sort of tips and something like that I think could be really fun. Of course, children’s books are great..
“And then, you know, I think people are often curious if I’m going to write a memoir, but I’ve got a lot more life to live before I’m there.”
The former Suits actor and entrepreneur became exasperated when she began railing: “We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something.”
“To prove that you’re enough. You have to prove that you’re pretty enough. You have to prove that you’re smart enough. You have to prove that you’re a good wife, or a good friend, and I was like, ‘I’m just so done with the prove it game’,” Meghan said.
“And if you can’t see it, I can’t, I don’t need to prove to you why. That’s your loss.
“Because I know that I’m a great friend, and I know the kind of mom I am, and I know the kind of human being I am, and I know how I show up.
“And I love being able to be that person with the people that I love. So, you know, worthiness, maybe part of worthiness comes when you stop having to feel like you’re in the prove it game.”
NEW PHOTOS OF ARCHIE AND LILIBET
Meghan Markle has shared rare images of Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie just a day after revealing her daughter’s adorable American accent.
The Duchess of Sussex posted pictures of her five-year-old son, and three-year-old daughter, looking at pink roses on Instagram.
The children’s faces are not visible but their vibrant red hair, inherited from father Prince Harry, was on full display.
The images thrilled fans of the Sussexes, who took to social media to point out that both children had inherited the red hair that is a prominent trait of the Spencers, their late grandmother Princess Diana’s side of the family.
“All that gorgeous red hair. The Spencer genes are strong in Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet,” one fan wrote on X.
Another pointed out how Lilibet’s hair colour was almost an exact match for the natural hair colour that Princess Diana sported in her teenage years.
They posted: “Note the children have inherited their late grandmother’s red hair. Princess Diana is gone but not forgotten, folks!”
Adding to the theme, another fan posted that the children’s red locks were similar to Princess Diana’s brother, the Earl Spencer, who had red hair as a child.
“Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s vibrant ‘Spencer’ red hair is just like their great-uncle’s Charles Spencer,” the fan wrote on X.
Meghan captioned the post: “Sunday kind of love … with my little loves.”
It came after the Duchess of Sussex posted a video to her Instagram stories in which Princess Lilibet’s adorable American accent could be heard.
The daughter of Meghan and Prince Harry taste-tested her mum’s home-made strawberry preserve jam from her As Ever brand in the adorable clip.
“What do we think, Lili?” Meghan asked in the footage of her boiling a pot of the jam on the stove top.
“I think it’s beautiful,” Lilibet, who could be seen hiding a wooden spoon, responded.
In March, Meghan revealed on The Drew Barrymore Show that her children have also picked up Prince Harry’s British accent.
“Some of the words that they still say with a British accent, so they’ll say z-e-b-r-a and what else do they say? They have these little moments where it comes out and because they have very American accents, but they say words that are just like him and I think it’s adorable,” Meghan said.
