‘I can’t take any more of this’: What Andrew told Epstein

Newly released documents have revealed that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor pleaded with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell to make it clear he had no involvement in any alleged sex trafficking activities.

The rise and fall of Prince Andrew

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor told Jeffrey Epstein and the late pedophile financier’s accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, that he “couldn’t take any more of this” when the former prince was informed in 2011 that a British newspaper was going to publish a story about the trio.

A fresh tranche of documents provided by Epstein’s estate, some of which also mentioned US President Donald Trump, was released by the US House Oversight Committee on Wednesday local time. Among the thousands of documents was the email conversation from March 2011 in which Andrew repeatedly pleaded with the couple to make it clear that he had no involvement in the alleged activities.

“Please make sure that every statement or legal letter states clearly that I am NOT involved and that I knew and know NOTHING about any of these allegations,” Andrew wrote to Epstein. “I can’t take any more of this my end.”

The messages were sent months after Andrew claimed to have severed all ties with Epstein in December 2010, CNN reported.

In what appears to be a separate email chain between Andrew and Maxwell on the same day, discussing a response to the press inquiry from the Mail on Sunday newspaper, he wrote: “Hey there! What’s all this? I don’t know anything about this! You must SAY so please. This has NOTHING to do with me. I can’t take any more of this.”

Andrew sent his messages after he was forwarded a right-to-reply email by Epstein from the newspaper, in which, he featured in several claims. The email alleged that a woman, Virginia Giuffre, worked as a masseuse for Epstein and met and had sex with Andrew at Maxwell’s London home in 2001.

In the released emails, Epstein appeared to confirm the infamous photo of Giuffre with Andrew is real.

In an email from Epstein to a reporter in July 2011, one of the documents released by the US House Oversight Committee, Epstein also claimed that several of his employees had their picture taken with the former prince, The Sun reports.

The photo shows former prince Andrew with his arm around the then 17-year-old Giuffre at Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell’s London home in 2001.

Ms Giuffre used the evidence for her allegations that Andrew sexually abused her on three occasions.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has always denied any wrongdoing, insisting the photo was doctored, and has stated that he has no recollection of ever meeting Ms Giuffre.

He has never been charged with any offence.

In an email from Epstein to a reporter in July 2011, he wrote: “The girl has fled the country with an outstanding arrest warrant.

“The da [sic[ after she accused others, said in writing that she has no credibility, she was never 15 years old working for me, her story made it seem like she first worked for trump [sic] at that age and was met by ghislaine maxwell [sic].

“Total horses***, the daily mail [sic] paid her money, they admitted it, with the statement that it took money to coax out the truth.

“Yes she was on my plane, and yes she had her picture taken with Andrew, as many of my employees have.

“I have never misled you, this girl is a total liar, they [sic] authorities should check her australian [sic] immigration form, you could talk to dershowitz [sic]. I will ask if they will co-operate – Prince people.”

Alan Dershowitz, one of Epstein’s former lawyers, had long denied Ms Giuffre’s allegations that she was trafficked to him.

In 2022, Ms Giuffre dropped her lawsuit claiming that Mr Dershowitz was among the men she was lent out to for sex, saying she may have made a mistake in identifying him.

Andrew, who has been stripped of his titles over his links to Epstein, has always categorically denied meeting Virginia Giuffre, and all allegations against him.

Ms Giuffre tragically took her own life at her farm in Western Australia in April aged 41.

In his 2019 car crash Newsnight interview, the younger brother of King Charles told BBC’s Emily Maitlis: “It didn’t happen. I can absolutely categorically tell you it never happened.”

“I have no recollection of ever meeting this lady, none whatsoever.”

He denied Ms Giuffre’s account of him “profusely sweating” and “pouring with perspiration” when they allegedly danced at a club in 2001 on the grounds he had a medical condition that stopped him from sweating.

When asked about the photograph, the former duke said he had “absolutely no memory” of it.

Maxwell has also always claimed the infamous photo is fake, stating in an interview from prison: “This photo is not real. There was never an original one produced.”

Epstein also claimed in emails, released by the US House Oversight Committee, that Buckingham Palace would “love it” if Andrew’s accuser Ms Giuffre was “proven to be a liar”

In a further email, Epstein added: “The girl who accused Prince Andrew can also easily be proven to be a liar.

“I think Buckingham Palace would love it. You should task someone to investigate the girl Virginia Roberts, that has caused the Queen’s son all this agro [sic].

“I promise you she is a fraud. You and I will be able to go to ascot [sic] for the rest of our lives.”

It came as Democrats thrust Donald Trump’s relationship with Epstein back into the spotlight, releasing old emails alleging he “knew about the girls” because he asked Maxwell to stop recruiting staff from his Mar-a-Lago spa.

Earlier this year, Mr Trump said he didn’t understand the interest in Epstein.

“It’s pretty boring stuff. It’s sordid, but it’s boring, and I don’t understand why it keeps going,” he said.

He added, “I think really only pretty bad people, including fake news, want to keep something like that going.”
