Prince Harry’s bizarre doorbell drama

'He misses this life': Prince Harry reportedly 'obsessed' with royal VE Day footage

Prince Harry has been caught up in a strange doorbell incident while “looking for a friend” in London.

The incident came amid claims the Prince of Sussex felt vulnerable in the UK, without access to his former security detail, which was taken away from him as he was no longer a working Royal.

In bizarre images obtained by The Sun, Prince Harry is pictured on a doorbell camera in the up-market west London locale of Fulham.

In photos and video footage of the incident, the Royal can clearly be seen dressed in a crisp dark blue and calling at doors along the street, while talking on his mobile phone.

Harry, who was in London at the time claiming in court that he felt unsafe without armed police protecting him, tried his luck at least three homes before finding the one he was looking for.

One Fulham resident told The Sun their housekeeper opened the door but had not recognised the royal.

“We were shocked to see it was him on the camera.” they said.

“We only really noticed once neighbours started talking — and then we were like, ‘Oh yes!’”

Another resident said: “Two of the houses he knocked at are at completely opposite ends of the road, which is about half a mile long”

“It’s a bit odd he didn’t seem to have a clue which house he was aiming for. I don’t think many people would just walk down a road knocking on doors, let alone if you don’t feel safe.”

The incident occurred early last month when the Prince was in the England capital, arguing at the Court of Appeal that his “life was at stake” when in Britain after his automatic right to 24-hour gun carrying police was removed when he and wife Meghan quit as working royals.

Harry lost the case amid claims he stayed at a mate’s up-market home and, against security protocols, had a Deliveroo sent to the front door.

FED UP BRITS HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF HARRY

Frustrated Brits are demanding that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle be stripped of their royal titles — with one exasperated local declaring “enough is enough”.

Prince Harry managed to raise even more eyebrows in his homeland last week by venting to the BBC about his fractured family dynamics — just hours after he lost his appeal for taxpayer-funded UK security.

“Why on earth do we, the British public, need to foot the bill for this?” one infuriated Brit said to the New York Post, referring to publicly funded security for the Sussexes and their two children.

“He chose to leave. Simple as. Want security? Should’ve stayed,” she scoffed.

Indeed, a recent poll conducted by the Express in London showed that 97 per cent of the total 4,500 who were asked felt that King Charles should strip Prince Harry of his royal title.

The results strongly echoed a previous survey conducted by polling service Find Out Now, which showed a shockingly dwindling base of support for the Sussexes in Britain.

The poll found just 36 per cent of the British public support the Invictus Games founder retaining his title. It also found that 64 per cent of Brits back King Charles.

Still, that sentiment hasn’t stopped Meghan from using her HRH title in private.

Last month, 43-year-old former actress was caught referring to herself by her title — despite agreeing to stop using it following her and Prince Harry’s dramatic exit from royal life in 2020.

After her friend Jamie Kern Lima showed off a gift basket she had received from Markle, eagled-eyed viewers spotted a note tucked away between the strawberry preserve jars.

“With Compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex,” read the note, which was sent about a year ago.

But sources close to the duchess told The New York Post that she used the HRH title on a private note in a personal gift — not intended for a public purpose.

Insiders denied that the card was a breach of the Sussexes’ agreement with the late Queen Elizabeth II before her death, and claimed that neither Prince Harry nor Meghan uses their HRH titles in commercial or public settings.

Whispers of the situation soon reached British shores, with a royal insider revealing that the incident was even discussed behind palace doors.

Another disillusioned local — who once counted himself among the couple’s staunchest supporters — told The New York Post he believes Prince Harry and Meghan have done everything in their power to embarrass the monarchy in recent years, particularly during such a sensitive time for cancer-stricken Charles.

“It’s despicable, to put it lightly. It’s constant attacks without any real consequences,” he said of the couple’s several lucrative tell-all projects, including his protocol-shattering book, their Harry & Meghan Netflix series, and bombshell 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview.

“The [late] Queen would be horrified.”

After they announced their departure from royal life five years ago, Buckingham Palace released a statement on the fate of the couple’s HRH titles.

“The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the royal family,” the palace said at the time.

Though no formal law prevents the pair from styling themselves as His and Her Royal Highness, the couple — who married in 2018 — had assured the late Queen they would honour the agreement to forgo those titles.

The late Queen strongly opposed the “half in and half out” approach to royal life that Prince Harry and Meghan put forward before fully stepping away.

“You work for the monarchy, the monarchy doesn’t work for you,” the late monarch famously told her grandson at the time.

The titles were promptly removed from the royal family’s official website after the duo announced their exit.
