Dolly Parton invites Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to Dollywood theme park

Dolly Parton still feels bad for turning down an invite to tea with Princess Catherine last year. To make up for it, she’s put an interesting offer forward for the little princes and princess.

Dolly Parton wants the royal family to visit Dollywood

Dolly Parton has invited Britain Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to her Dollywood theme park in Tennessee.

It’s a tantalising proposal, especially given the tradition of the late Princess Diana who frequently took young princes William and Harry to theme parks.

The young royals were known to have gone on trips to Disney World as well as England’s Thorpe Park.

Parton, 78, told the BBC she was unable to take up an invitation to tea at the palace with Princess Catherine last year while she was in the UK promoting her album Rockstar.

The album was the country crooner’s first foray into the rock genre and she collaborated on it with a number artists including Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.

So to make up for it, Parton told the UK’s Closer she wanted to host the royals herself.

“Oh, I would absolutely love for them to come to Dollywood, that would be fantastic!” Parton said.

“The kids could go on all the rides and we would treat them like royalty.”

Despite rolling out the red carpet at Dollywood, Parton explained she also fully intended to welcome the family as guests to her own home too.

“I’d give Kate my mashed potatoes – I wouldn’t put on any airs for them,” Parton said.

“I would just let them enjoy what we enjoy, and I’m sure that’s the way they would want it.”

Parton said she still regretted that her hectic promotional schedule did not allow her to meet with Princess Catherine last year.

“I felt so bad, I couldn’t even go because they had all this stuff set up,” Parton told the BBC.

“She wasn’t going to promote my rock album, so I had to say no.”
