This A-lister’s return after 10 years has sparked excitement among Aussie fans, though one cheeky request was politely declined with a selfie instead.

The Moment Oprah called Melissa Doyle | Something To Talk About

Oprah Winfrey has arrived in Australia for the first time in a decade.

The beloved talk show host, producer and media mogul touched down at Sydney Airport on her private jet on Monday, two days before kicking of her Australia and New Zealand speaking tour, Oprah In Conversation.

The 71-year-old, who has an estimated net worth of approximately $4.8 billion AUD, looked effortlessly chic as she stepped off the plane, wearing loose-fitting beige loungewear which she glammed up with dark sunnies and a wide-brimmed hat.

The star then took the time to greet waiting fans, hopping out of her luxury ride to take selfies with the gathering crowd before leaving the airport.

One fan even held up a sign that read, “Oprah plz buy me a car”, which references the iconic 2004 Oprah’s Favourite Things episode on which she famously gave every single member of her studio audience a Pontiac G6 sedan.

Oprah reportedly laughed off the request, telling the fan, “You get a selfie … but not a car!”

The tour, fronted by Aussie TV personality and former Sunrise host Melissa Doyle, then continues to Adelaide on December 6, Brisbane on December 8, Melbourne on December 11, before finishing up in Auckland on December 14.

“Can’t wait to be back in Australia and New Zealand for the first time in 10 years! Bring your friends, cousins, siblings – everybody!” she said in a social media video before her arrival.

“I can’t wait to share stories and reflect on what matters most to all of us, and hopefully inspire you to embrace your own path.”

The last time she was on our shores was in 2015 for her An Evening With Oprah speaking tour, during which she had pit stops in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Sydney.

Oprah also visited Sydney in 2010, filming two episodes of her talk show from the iconic Sydney Opera House in front of 6000 audience members seated on the forecourt.

The likes of local heroes such as Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban and the Irwin family all graced the stage, as did visiting music superstars Bono, Jon Bon Jovi and Jay-Z.

The two hour-long shows included various references to Australia’s attractions as part of a package to promote the country to her 150 million worldwide viewers.
