Kevin Spacey rushed to hospital during film festival

The Oscar winner, 64, was attending a film festival when he “experienced something unexpected”.

Oscar winner Kevin Spacey’s attendance at a film festival was cut short when he was rushed to hospital amid fears he was having a heart attack.

The House of Cards star, 64, underwent a series of tests including an MRI after his arm went numb during the 15th Tashkent International Film Festival in Uzbekistan.

He was touring the Afrasiyab Museum in the ancient Silk Road city of Samarkand when he felt his “entire left arm go numb for about eight seconds”, according to a source as per The Sun.

Spacey was taken to the Innova Diagnostic Clinic in the city where he was cleared of a heart attack.

“Mr Spacey was taken to a medical centre over health concerns. He was treated professionally by doctors and staff and found to have no problem with his heart,” The Sun reports, citing a source close to the actor.

Later that night, Spacey told a crowd his health was “normal” during a speech at the festival’s closing ceremony on Monday.

He added: “It made me really take a moment and think about how fragile life is – for all of us.”

He acknowledged he “experienced something here today that was unexpected.”

“I was looking at these extraordinary murals on the walls and I suddenly felt my entire left arm go numb for about eight seconds.

“I shook it off, but I immediately told the people I was with and we went immediately to the … medical centre.”

“I spent the afternoon there having a variety of tests. Staff took care of me, and even put me through an MRI.

“Everything turned out to be completely normal, and I’m grateful it’s not anything more serious.”

It comes after the actor was cleared of sexually assaulting four men 22 years ago. He always denied all charges.

He is working towards a “comeback” after he was dropped from Netflix hit House of Cards and edited out of Ridley Scott’s film All The Money in the World.
