Kelly Osbourne claims an agent once told her she was “too fat” after she was cast in a Disney movie.
The star recalled the incident after revealing that she was once cast in Freaky Friday opposite Lindsay Lohan.
However, her elation quickly turned to sadness after an agent allegedly gave her a “whole speech” about how if she didn’t lose weight she wouldn’t be a star.
“When I was a kid, I got pulled into the head of the agency’s office, and he was putting golf balls into a cup and gave me a whole speech about how I was too fat for TV and I needed to lose weight, and that if I lost weight, I would look better,” Kelly recalled on The Osbournes Podcast.
“I just booked a movie with Lindsay Lohan, Freaky Friday. I was gonna play her best friend, and then it was right before mum got diagnosed with cancer, so I quit,” Osbourne continued. “And he was just saying, ‘you’re not a movie star, but you could be one if you lost weight’.”
Her brother, Jack, replied: “That’s the most L.A. s**t ever.”
“I know,” Osbourne responded before saying: “As he’s putting golf balls into a cup in his office. And I was just, like, this is the most insulting f**ingg [thing].”
The role Osbourne quit to spend time with her mother ended up going to actress Christina Vidal in the end.
