‘I am ill’: Kelly Osbourne explains drastic weight loss, hits out at critics

Kelly Osbourne has hit back at her critics in a furious new video, explaining her drastically altered appearance in recent months.

"I am ill": Kelly Osbourne hits back over altered appearance

Kelly Osbourne has hit out at trolls criticising her appearance since losing her father Ozzy, slamming “disgusting” comments she’s been receiving on social media and saying her noticeable weight loss has been a symptom of her grief.

Osbourne, 41, posted a series of stories to her Instagram account today, slamming those who’ve commented on her appearance in recent weeks.

She said she’d been subjected to a torrent of “disgusting, mean, horrible, brutal comments” since losing her father in July.

“What do you expect from me? What do you expect me to look like right now? The fact that I’m getting out of bed and facing my life and trying should be more than enough,” she said.

“To everyone leaving me sick comments, you need to take a strong hard look at yourself

You say that I look ill. Well I am ill right now. My life is completely flipped upside down. I don’t understand how people expect me to bounce back and look like everything is fine in my life when it’s not.”

Osbourne also said it was unfair to compare photographs of her now to when she was a teenager and first found fame in her family’s hit noughties reality show: “People’s faces change as they get older.”

She said the most “devastating” thing was that the majority of comments appeared to be coming from “grown ass women.”

“Women that say they’re counsellors, women that are mothers, women that have weight struggles of their own … it’s devastating that women can’t support other women. It’s disgusting and I’ve had enough of it. So … go f**k yourself.”

Many comments on Kelly’s recent social media posts have in fact been expressing concern for the star, with fans offering messages of support and saying they hope she’s looking after herself.

She looked noticeably gaunt at an event honouring her late father in his hometown of Birmingham last week.

“I pray for Kelly, man … she’s going through it,” read one top comment on social media.

“Heartbreak can kill you,” another fan remarked, saying they hoped Kelly was looking after herself as she processed her father’s death.

Kelly’s mother Sharon, who herself has copped scrutiny for her worryingly thin frame in recent years, defended her daughter in a new TV interview with Piers Morgan yesterday.

“If she’s happy that she can’t eat … well, she’s not happy that she’s lost her daddy, but she can’t eat right now,” Sharon explained.

Sharon said the concern over their weight loss was due to “jealousy.”

“Going on a [social media] site, writing … a lot of effort goes into that, and I just feel sorry for people,” she said.

Elsewhere in the same interview, Sharon also opened up about Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy’s final moments before he died in their UK country home in July aged 76.

“Kiss me. Hug me tight,” Ozzy told his wife, after waking at 4am in their Buckinghamshire mansion. Sharon said he died just 20 minutes later.

Recalling details of his death publicly for the first time, she revealed he rose for an early morning workout in their home gym but was unresponsive when she went to check on him a short time later.

“He had a heart attack,” she told Morgan.

“I ran downstairs, and there he was, and they were trying to resuscitate him, and I’m like, ‘Don’t – just leave him. Leave him. You can’t. He’s gone’.
