HUGH Jackman and Melissa George are just some of the celebs who celebrated the marriage of Aussie photographer James Houston in an incredible ceremony in New York.

Renowned Aussie born photographer James Houston married his partner of ten years, restaurateur Brian McGrory surrounded by a sea of black tie family and friends, some of who just happen to be international celebrities.

James met his now husband, Brian, ten years ago, and has joined the growing conga line of same sex couples who have chosen to tie the knot in the United States where 20 states have legalised ‘gay’ marriage.

Guests were invited to the ultra-glam roof top of the Rockefeller Centre in New York where the ceremony took place on a crystal blue sunset night.

Leading make-up artist Dotti played the roll of marriage celebrant after she studied up and got her celebrant license.

Guests included Hugh Jackman and wife Deborra-Lee Furness, Melissa George, Jim and Kristy Clark, international garden guru Jamie Durie and Aussie-born, New York based model turned Eveleigh restaurateur Lincoln Pilcher.

Kristy Clark looked exquisite in a Lanvin dress and was happy to be out and about after giving birth to baby Harper six weeks ago.

The Clark family will be in Australia in December with mega boating enthusiast Jim putting his state-of-the-art boat in the Sydney to Hobart race on Boxing Day.

The Jackmans were in fine form seeing their long time pal tie the knot while new mum Melissa George (she gave birth to Raphael seven months ago) is already making sure he will be a fully fledged Francophile.

“He already says ‘maman’ (French for mum) and he really does put life into total perspective,” she said.

New York-based Houston is recognised as one of the world’s leading beauty, body and celebrity photographers and over the last 10 years he has also branched out into commercial directing for clients such as Clinique and Hugo Boss.

His award-winning aesthetic lends itself to design and architecture, two areas where his passion and creative sights our now set.

“When I think about ‘design’, I don’t think of one thing specifically,” says James.

“My varied background began with a passion for sculpture, was followed by a job as an art director in advertising and then, twenty years ago, lead to photography and film.

“Over the years I have developed an eye for design that I use now in every creative endeavour.

“Whether I’m designing a house, a piece of furniture or commenting on a hairstyle I am about to shoot for L’Oreal Paris. Design is in everything I do and I love it. “

His design expertise was evident in the layout of the entire wedding

Some of the week’s wedding guests started the celebrations early with a Friday night sunset cruise on the Hudson River followed by drinks and dinner at McGrory’s two eateries - Whitehall and Waverley in Downtown New York.

Other guests included former model agent Louise Patrick, Katherine Keating, Helen Robbins, Michael Murphy and former Sydneysiders, Pensiri and Ben Scott.
