Brooklyn Beckham breaks silence amid family feud with David and Victoria

Brooklyn Beckham hasn’t mentioned his famous family on social media in months amid an ongoing rift but the aspiring chef has changed that for one of his siblings.

Brooklyn Beckham has broken his silence on sister Harper’s birthday with reports circulating that he is keen to end his long-running feud with his family.

As Harper turned 14 on Thursday local time, Brooklyn took to social media to wish her a happy birthday.

The photo shows Brooklyn alongside wife Nicola Peltz and Harper in the middle.

“Happy birthday Harper, we love u x,” Brooklyn wrote, tagging Nicola in the post.

The post is Brooklyn’s first to reference any member of his famous family in many months amid an ongoing rift that saw the aspiring chef miss celebrations for his father’s 50th birthday in May.

He has also not publicly acknowledged his mother Victoria on Mother’s Day in the UK, nor did he post about brother Cruz’s 20th birthday in February.

But, according to sources, Brooklyn has always been close to his younger sister.

“Brooklyn and Harper were always incredibly close,” a source told The Sun.

“He adores her and so does his wife Nicola. They had an incredibly close bond and despite everything that has gone on, Brooklyn idolises her.

“Harper means the world to Brooklyn. Although things have been strained between him and his parents, there is no way he’d want it to affect Harper.

“He is her big brother and nothing will ever change that.”

According to The Sun, David and Victoria were “anguished” by how far the feud had gone.

A social media post by Brooklyn, which those close to the Beckhams said felt “pointed”, saw Brooklyn saying to Nicola: “I always choose you baby.”

Insiders close to the former Spice Girl and ex England captain said they were “devastated” by the lack of contact and said they believed Nicola was “controlling” Brooklyn.

A source added: “It shows how much this situation with his family has escalated.

“It’s very sad for everyone involved, especially David and Victoria who love him very much. This isn’t the Brooklyn his family knows and loves.

“This post was like a dagger to their hearts but they will always be there for Brooklyn.”

Last week, David paid an emotional tribute to wife Victoria on their 26th wedding anniversary.

The 50-year-old British soccer legend shared a selection of throwback photos of himself and the fashion designer, posting an emotional message to his wife, writing: “26 years today you said YES to me.

“Happy Anniversary and thank you for giving me our beautiful children and building the life that we have together.

“I love you Lady Beckham. @victoriabeckham @brooklynpeltzbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven.”

David also posted photos of all his four children, tagging each of them, including eldest Brooklyn, despite the fact the 26-year-old is reportedly estranged from his family.

Victoria also paid tribute to her husband in a separate Instagram post saying: “Another year, another chapter in our love story. ️I’m so proud of the beautiful family and life we’ve built together. You and our four incredible children complete me. I love you so much @davidbeckham xx Here’s to 26 years!! xx.”

Tellingly, Brooklyn did not “like” either of his parents’ posts, a vast difference from previous years when the Beckhams commented all over each other’s social media feeds.

The silence from Brooklyn over another major Beckham family milestone was made even more stark when he and Nicola posted gushing posts over the birthday of her billionaire businessman father, Nelson Peltz. Brooklyn posted a series of family pics along with a red heart emoji while Nicola was even more expressive.

“Happy birthday dad! I am so lucky to be your daughter, you’re the most loving and supportive father I could ever dream of.

“I love you more than I could ever begin to express - you’re the wind beneath my wings,” Nicola wrote.

“I loved celebrating you yesterday! Thank you for always being there for us - our constant love and support.”

Cracks in the Brooklyn’s relationship with his family became public when he and Nicola missed multiple parties for David’s 50th party including a celebration in Paris, a fishing trip with Cruz and Romeo, an intimate dinner at their Cotswolds home and David’s star-studded birthday bash in London.

Sources said Brooklyn’s absence was a “dagger to the heart” for his parents.

The rift reportedly deepened when it was revealed that Brooklyn and Nicola flew to London two weeks after David’s 50th to shoot a campaign for Italian fashion house, Moncler. According to sources, they did not meet up with the Beckhams during the trip.

The campaign photos, which have just been released, were shot minutes away from the Beckham family home in Holland Park West London.

They were also up the road from where David was, attending the Chelsea Flower Show with King Charles and Queen Camilla.

“Brooklyn and David couldn’t have been closer in distance,” an insider told The Sun.

“It strikes a chord knowing how close in distance Brooklyn was to David given how tense their relations have been recently.

“Brooklyn was filming five minutes away by car.”

Brooklyn dug the knife in further when he released a statement about the Moncler shoot.

“Nicola and I move in sync,” he said. “That’s what this campaign is all about, being in tune with each other and with the city around us — London, a city we love.”

For the Beckhams, insiders have suggested there is also the issue that Nicola’s connection to Brooklyn is undeniably fortuitous when it comes to getting brand deals such as Moncler.

While Nicola’s father Nelson, is far more wealthy than the Beckhams, the Beckham brand is way more lucrative.

“The view is that Nicola wouldn’t be getting quite so much influencer type work if she wasn’t with a Beckham,” says one family source told the Daily Mail.

“When was the last time Brooklyn did anything on his own? It’s now always with her.”

Rumours about a feud with the Beckham clan and Nicola, 30, have circulated since her $6 million wedding to Brooklyn in 2022.
