The 24-year-old, who has over one million followers on Instagram, took to the platform to share an important message.

Ava posted a photo of herself waving a rainbow flag and shared a heartfelt caption.

“Once upon a time, some gal on the internet said gender is whatever about her own sexuality. Many took her words out of context, but she knew what she meant. Anyway, this is her posting for the first day of Pride Month 2024,” she wrote.

Pride Month, which kicks off on June 1st for Americans, is dedicated to honouring and advocating for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender pride.

Ava’s Pride post comes after she recently called out body shamers on TikTok.

The 24-year-old wrote that she reached a “major milestone” as a woman online because two strangers commented on her body saying completely different things.

“The first said … I’m too fat. The second accused me of starving myself because I’m too thin. My weight did not change in the time period between their comments,” she wrote.

Ava argued that even if her weight did change, it wouldn’t be anyone’s “business” if it had. She called the commentary around her body “bulls**t”.

Besides being active on social media, which is just a rite of passage for any Generation Zer, Ava hasn’t completely embraced a Hollywood career yet. When your parents fell in love on the set of Cruel Intentions, effortlessly grabbing some acting work would have been an easy route for the 24-year-old.

She has done some modelling for brands like Beyoncé’s fashion label Ivy and the make-up brand Pat McGrath. She also decided to pursue a more normal life, ditched Hollywood for university, and attended UC Berkeley.

She’s also very close to her famous mum, Reese. For her 47th birthday, she gushed about her on Instagram, calling her a “legendary lady” and a “force of nature”.

“While I am endlessly inspired by her and so proud of all she’s accomplished, what I admire most is the way she moves through the world as a curious, considerate, gracious, and loving person,” she wrote.

“How did I get so lucky to have a daughter like you?” Reese commented underneath the gushing post.
