Caitlyn Jenner slams Ellen in new tell-all book

CAITLYN Jenner’s 2015 appearance on The Ellen Show was meant to clear the air — instead it kickstarted a two-year feud between the pair.

Caitlyn Jenner Didn't Support Gay Marriage

CAITLYN Jenner’s 2015 appearance on The Ellen Show was meant to be a moment for the transgender reality star to clear the air about her controversial political views.

Instead, it kickstarted a feud between the pair that continues to this day.

In Jenner’s upcoming memoir, The Secrets of My Life, she blasts Ellen DeGeneres for “further alienating” Jenner from the LGBT community over her conservative politics.

In her appearance on the talk show, Jenner spoke to DeGeneres — who wed her Australian partner Portia de Rossi in 2008 — about her evolving views of same-sex marriage.

“I believed, as anyone would, that that was exactly what she wanted to talk about my progression in terms of changing attitude over the years,” she writes in the new book, Radar Online reports. Jenner writes that, having initially been opposed to same-sex marriage, since coming out as transgender her views had changed. “If that word ‘marriage’ is really, really that important to you I can go with it,” she writes.

However, she says she was “surprised” in the interview when DeGeneres said, “It’s funny you’re still kind of a little not on board with it.”

“I am for it,” she writes. “I did not initially understand why marriage was so important, influenced not doubt by my own personal experience. Now I do, and it’s a wonderful thing to see.”

Ellen’s framing of the interview as an adversarial debate — painting Jenner as anti-marriage equality — “further alienated me from members of the LGBTQ community,” writes Jenner.

After the interview aired, DeGeneres made an appearance on shock jock Howard Stern’s radio show, where she said she felt Jenner was not truly on board with marriage quality.

“She still has a judgment about gay marriage,” DeGeneres told Stern. “And I said, ‘You’re wanting people to understand and accept you — this is like, really confusing to people — and you still have a judgment about gay people and marriage.”

Reflecting on the interview in her book, Jenner says she was dismayed to see the talk-show host breathe new life into the story.

“Ellen’s appearance on The Howard Stern Show, where in my mind she even more emphatically took what I said out of context, made it go viral,” she writes.

Elsewhere in the book, Jenner alleges that Robert Kardashian knew that OJ Simpson was guilty, but represented him as a “f*** you” to ex-wife, Kris.
