SASHA Mielczarek has revealed he’s still in love with Sam Frost in his first tell-all interview since The Bachelorette couple’s shock split last year.
The 31-year-old construction manager, who is based on the NSW South Coast, admitted to WHO magazine that life has been “pretty tough” recently.
Mielczarek also finally shed some light on why the pair decided to call it quits in late December.
“Distance was mainly the reason,” he told the publication.
“Basically, Sam would get up early for 2DayFM breakfast show Rove and Sam and I couldn’t really talk to her till about midday and by that stage I was at work ... so not being able to talk to Sam during the day was tough for me.
“Then by the time I finished work, sometimes at 9pm, she was already asleep. So that was challenging.”
He explained in the end, it simply “got the better” of them.
“When you’re both leading busy lives, it gets tough. We don’t blame anyone.”
However, before Mielczarek and Frost broke up, they had made significant plans for their future together: a house, wedding, babies — the whole lot.
“We spoke about how many kids we would have, where we would get married and who we would invite. It was all real.”
While the constant media attention couldn’t have made things easy, the reality TV star insisted he had gotten pretty good at ignoring it.
“It’s not really an issue for me, but for Sam, because she’s such a beautiful, sensitive soul, sometimes it did get the better of her. And I was always there to pick her up,” Mielczarek said.
Despite the breakup, he gushed about his former lady love, describing her as an “amazing person.”
“Sam and I fell in love. And I still love her. We fell head over heels in love from the moment we saw each other.”
Given that, it’s unsurprising Mielczarek is still single.
“I am sitting here alone. I’ve just been spending time with friends and family and they’ve helped me get back on my feet,” he said.
