Actress speaks for the first time on what her first pregnancy was like

THE Hollywood star is a mother to both biological and adopted children but there’s one part of pregnancy that she says makes her prefer adoption.

KATHERINE Heigl is the mum to a brand new baby boy but there was one part of having a child that made her prefer adoption.

In her first interview since giving birth on December 20, Heigl told PEOPLE her first pregnancy was “pretty easy” and despite never being that “determined to experience pregnancy” she was grateful she did.

But, while the Grey’s Anatomy star’s pregnancy might’ve been easy, it was her experience after having her son Josh Kelley Junior that made her prefer adoption.

“One minute you’re weirdly obsessed with this baby, like ‘Don’t take him out of my sight,’ and the next you’re kind of blue, you’re a little sad and a little freaked out,” she told PEOPLE.

“I actually prefer the adoption way because I wasn’t subject to hormones.”

The actress is already the adoptive mother to two girls.

The 38-year old actress is already a mother to eight-year-old Naleigh and four-year-old Adalaide, both of which she adopted with her husband Josh Kelley.

Heigl married the 36-year-old singer in 2007.

While Heigl admits she has experienced plenty of “emotional highs and lows” since giving birth to her son, the star said believes the hormones are “the only difference” in raising your own children.

“The moment you hold your child, you’re wholly in love,” she says.

Adding, “You’ll do anything to protect them and shelter them.”
