Influencers’ racy reveal at book launch party

Can a troupe of influencers get together and not grab a headline? With saucy stories like these, it’s impossible not to.

Behind the success of #spicybooktok and the romance novel revolution

A group of Sydney influencers have shocked at a posh restaurant with a swirl of sexy behaviour that left some people choking on their clam spaghetti.

The racy admissions were shared at a celebration launching the new erotic novel, Love Beyond 30s, by socialite Suzan Mutesi.

The social scene regular told guests the self-published tome was based on her real-life dating experiences.

“Those Louis Vuitton dresses? Let’s just say their price tags were my best-kept secrets,” she told attendees.

“I’d strut into a date looking like a million bucks, only to return that dress the next day because, let’s be honest, who can justify dropping $3000 for a single night of glam.”

Love Beyond 30s follows Rachel, a thirty-something career woman who’s looking for the man of her dreams – or at least one who doesn’t still use his mum’s Netflix account.

Fellow guests at the launch, hosted by Marta restaurant in Rushcutters Bay, publicly shared their own racy dating disasters and triumphs.

“He talked about himself the entire time — then, at the end of the date, he dropped me home and a condom fell on the ground as I got out of his car,” said former Married At First Sight contestant Carolina Santos.

“Was it used?” inquired Mikey Gelo, the Sydney party boy and reality TV regular.

Carolina didn’t confirm or deny.

Meanwhile, social media personality Tom Gay regaled diners with his own erotic experiences.

“I met a straight boy once. … And they’re not always as straight as they say they are,” he said, detailing an evening he spotted one particularly handsome man at a bar.

“I took him to the back room, whipped my pants down … And I’m like, ‘Mate are you straight? And he’s like, ‘Yeah man, I’ve never done this before’. Fast forward: six years later, he’s my current partner.”

Other guests in attendance included underwear model Dylan Mahoney and fashionistas @LookLikeLuka and Isaias Vego.
