Being able to watch some incredible local musicians with a wine in one hand and an oyster in the other will be a reality as Tasmania’s newest festival springs to life next weekend.
Bangor Music in the Vines is set to take over the lawns at Bangor Vineyard Shed in Dunalley on Saturday, March 29, promising an unforgettable day of live music, food, Tasmanian wine and a unique vineyard experience.
Bangor manager Vanessa Dunbabin said the Tasman Peninsula festival was about more than just music and “about creating connections” for all ages, and for the whole family.
“We wanted to create an event that celebrates local artisan food and wine, live music from both rising stars and iconic Tasmanian artists, and the beauty of country Tasmania,” Mrs Dunbabin said.
Not only is the new festival supporting local growers, producers, musicians and performers, they are also partnering with Dunalley Primary School to raise much-needed funds.
“Our children all attended Dunalley Primary School and loved being part of a wonderful country school,” Mrs Dunbabin said.
“But being remote, funds raised by the School Association are vital for supporting programs and experiences that city students take for granted, and we’re thrilled to be a small part of that.”
Festival-goers will enjoy entertainment for all ages, including face painting, circus performances, clay workshops, Taiko drummers and interactive music sessions for kids.
This will be followed by a night of live music from some of Tasmania’s best performers.
For foodies, Bangor Vineyard’s award-winning wines will be a standout, as well as local beers and cider, fresh Tasmanian seafood, gourmet cheeses and Bangor lamb.
With Tasmania’s live music culture thriving, Bangor Music in the Vines is set to become an annual highlight, showcasing homegrown talent, stunning landscapes, and the best Tassie food and wine.
Bangor Music in the Vines will be held Saturday, March 29 from 3-10pm at Bangor Vineyard Shed, Dunalley.
The winery also has an option to camp overnight, with the paddock a short walk from the main stage.
