THE battle between Kesha and her alleged rapist and music producer Dr Luke continues after she publicly thanked Lady Gaga for her performance of a song about sexual assault at the Oscars.

Kesha tweeted Gaga to say how touched she was by her performance of Til It Happens To You, in which dozens of men and women, all survivors of sexual assault, stood on stage with her baring words such as “Survivor”, “Not Your Fault” and “Unbreakable” written on their forearms.

But in a statement to TMZ, Dr Luke’s rep hit out at the singer for relating the performance to herself.

“[Kesha], who in sworn video testimony from 2011 stated that she had never been sexually abused or drugged by Dr. Luke, is neither a victim nor the appropriate person to be held up as an example for this important issue,” Luke’s rep told TMZ in a statement.

Numerous high profile celebrities have thrown their support behind Kesha.

The statement comes after Kesha was denied the right to end her recording contract with Sony and Dr Luke, even though she claims he raped her. He has not been charged.

Dr Luke also released a statement last week and tweeted screen shots from a 2011 deposition in which Kesha denies the pair have ever had sex.

“I didn’t rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her. Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister,” he said in the statement.

“Kesha has denied under oath the horrible allegations now being made against me.

“Kesha and I made a lot of songs together and it was often good but there were creative differences at times. It’s sad that she would turn a contract negotiation into something so horrendous and untrue. But I feel confident when this is over the lies will be exposed and the truth will prevail.”
