Aussie celebs reveal their first email addresses at Logies
Australia’s biggest names in TV hit the Logies red carpet looking sharp, but it was an awkward question from a reporter that left many stumped.
Aussie celebrities have revealed their very first email addresses, and they’re as cringe as you’d expect.
Speaking to news.com.au’s Andrew Bucklow on the Logies red carpet Sunday night, TV stars from Hamish Blake, to Charlie Pickering and Grant Denyer dished all on their all-important, debut contact details.
Zoe Foster Blake said her launch email was still active so she’d be keeping it under wraps, thank you very much. But husband Hamish Blake happily stitched her up in front of the cameras, jumping in to drop: “Hotfart66.”
Grant Denyer obviously thought he was a pretty cool kid, bestowing himself with the nickname ‘Mad Dog’, which he then used to craft his email.
“My first email address was a nickname I think I gave myself, which is against the rules for starts,” Denyer said.
“It was, maddog@aussiemail.com.au.”
In hindsight, he conceded, “I’m like a yappy chihuahua, not a mad dog.”
Charlie Pickering reluctantly revealed his first email, which gave away his suggestive nickname.
“Feelgood@charron.net.au,” the TV host offered.
“My nickname was Dr. Feelgood.”
Comedian Rhys Nicholson opted for something edgy aged 11.
“I wanted to be psycho Rhys. But I didn’t know how to spell psycho, so it was, syco — rhys@hotmail.com.”
Sunday’s Logies marked comedian Sam Pang’s third time as host, which has yet again been praised by viewers.
Home and Away veteran Lynne McGranger took out the top award of the night, the Gold Logie, beating out Ally Langdon, Hamish Blake, Lisa Millar, Sonia Kruger, Poh Ling Yeow and Julia Morris.
“This is going to be pride of place next to my 1974 Wagga Wagga Drama Festival Best Actress award,” McGranger joked.
“Yeah, it’s a soap, but (Home and Away) gives Australian actors and crew so much work, and we are so proud of it.
“To all the fans who voted … and for those of you out there that keep free-to-air television alive, please keep doing what you are doing, and watching what you watch.”
