Hollywood award season is officially underway with the 2025 Golden Globes in LA today, with Zendaya sending the rumour mill into overdrive.

Don't miss out on the headlines from Golden Globes. Followed categories will be added to My News.
And that’s a wrap on the 2025 Golden Globe awards.
The 82nd annual celebration of film and TV unfolded in Los Angeles Monday, with some of Hollywood’s brightest stars serving glitz and glamour at the swanky Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.
On the awards front, acclaimed drug cartel musical Emilia Pérez cleaned up in film after scoring an impressive 10 nods. It was a similar sweep in TV, with Disney+ series Shogun coming out on top in most categories.
First and (arguably) foremost, the spotlight was well and truly on the red carpet, where we may have got a subtle engagement announcement courtesy of Zendaya, who wore a large sparkler on her left ring finger.
If that wasn’t enough, the US actress, who is in a long-term relationship with Marvel star Tom Holland, was loaned jewellery from Italian designer Blvgari, which sent out a press release detailing the jewels she was wearing.
Noticeably missing from the fashion house’s style rundown was the mystery diamond on Zendaya’s engagement finger.
Zendaya, 28, and Holland, also 28, are notoriously private, having rarely commented on their relationship. They first met in 2016, before making their romance public in 2021.
Suffice to say, their shared fanbase is in a right spin on social media.
“Cancel the golden globes until someone figures out if Zendaya is wearing an engagement ring,” one user wrote on X.
“DAT RING ON HER FINGER MISS ZENDAYA GURL,” another added.
“Zendaya got a massive ring on her ring finger,” a third chimed in.
Elsewhere, Demi Moore turned heads for all the right reasons in a dazzling gold gown, but it was her age that had most people talking.
Fans following the action online were taken aback to learn the ageless movie star is 62.
“IMAGINE LOOKING LIKE DEMI MOORE AT 62,” one wrote.
“Demi Moore at 62. Can you believe it?” another reacted.
“Demi Moore looks SO GOOD. Woah,” a third chimed in.
Australian Cate Blanchett seldom steps a foot wrong in the fashion department, gracing the Globes in regal gold.
Nicole Kidman sparkled in a striking backless silver dress, but it was the return of the ‘60s beehive (albeit, a more refined version) that really had her oozing old Hollywood glamour.
Speaking of ageless stars, Angelina Jolie looked as youthful as she did two decades ago in a glittery number.
Nominee Ariana Grande shifted gears from her usual Glinda pink amid Wicked’s pop culture domination, donning a strapless butter yellow gown with a beaded bodice.
Co-star and fellow nominee Cynthia Erivo also left the green behind, opting for a dramatic black and silver gown.
You know it’s a party in the U.S.A when Miley Cyrus shows up.
Former Globes winner Emma Stone debuted a pixie cut for the first time, teamed perfectly with a prim and proper red dress.
Popular internet personality Brianna LaPaglia served the first ultra-plunging gown of the night.
We’re clocking an ‘all that glitters’ theme at this year’s awards, with Mindy Kaling stepping out in another gold showstopper.
And another! This year’s host Nikki Glaser joins the Golden (Globes) Girls.
Double nominee Selena Gomez attended with her new fiance, Benny Blanco.
Comedian Ali Wong cut through the gold in an ambitious red dress made of ribbons, teamed with arm-length gloves.
And with that, we have another trend... Gloves! Kerry Washington offsets her hot pink asymmetrical gown with the accessory of the season. How very Marilyn.
Zoe Kravitz gave a masterclass in simplicity with this divine black strapless dress.
Kaley Cuoco kept things wholesome in an angelic white frock. Picture:
Pamela Anderson continued to shun make-up at public events, and we absolutely love her for it.
Baby Reindeer star Jessica Gunning hit the red carpet in velvet teal.
Timothee Chalamet accessorised his tux with a blue sash. Notably, he walked the red carpet without girlfriend Kylie Jenner, who later joined him inside the ceremony.
Eddie Redmayne deserves another Oscar for this look.
Dakota Fanning kept it classic in scarlet red.
We’ve struck gold again, with Eiza Gonzalez becoming a certified member of the Golden Girls.
Irish actor Andrew Scott swapped the classic black tuxedo for an aqua blue suit.
Anya Taylor-Joy was pretty in pink.
Amy Adams kept it classic in an off-the-shoulder gown.
Alexandra Daddario infused some flamboyance with sequins and feathers.
Kate Hudson is positively ageless, stepping out in a stunning navy princess gown.
Heidi Klum went for an eye-popping green gown, pictured with husband Tom Kaulitz.
Top Gun: Maverick star Monica Barbaro was an early arrival, wearing a whimsy strapless gown.
The Globes last year returned to its former glory after the ceremony was reduced to a mere slide show in 2022 following the diversity scandal at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which had long governed the event.
A Los Angeles Times investigation in February 2021 found that there were no black journalists among HFPA 80-strong members, leading to criticism that Black-led projects were not getting more recognition, with a string of celebrities boycotting the ceremony as a result.
Now with new owners, Dick Clark Productions and Todd Boehly’s Eldridge, the reinvigorated voting body reportedly consists of 300 members from 76 countries, with 60 per cent of whom are racially and ethnically diverse.
And with that, the Globes spectacle viewers know and love is back.
