‘Crying’: Abbie Chatfield’s emotional moment with Kelli Holiday at ARIAs

Abbie Chatfield confessed she was almost brought to tears on live TV after her boyfriend’s heartwarming gesture in front of the nation.

Abbie Chatfield was “almost crying” after Kelli Holiday dedicated his ARIA Award to her on Wednesday night.

Holiday won the Best Video award for his viral hit Dancing2, and dedicated the win to his girlfriend Abbie Chatfield, who was in the audience filming with her phone like a proud stage mum.

“I really want to thank Abbie, my beautiful Abbie, because without her, this song would not exist at all.” he said on stage.

Then he finished his speech with an uncensored send-off that we’re guessing won’t make Ten’s telecast later tonight: To every person who supports Australian music, “you’re a sick c**t.” Uh… thanks!

Chatfield then shared her own feelings during a roving chat with host Concetta Caristo during the ceremony.

“I was almost crying, and all of his team as well was independent and it’s so important to support independent artists,” Chatfield told Caristo.

“It’s amazing for an independent artist to win an ARIA, particularly a music video that takes so much crew and so many hours and so much effort.

“So it’s not just for Adam, it’s also for the rest of the crew.”

Chatfield, who said she was “so proud” of her man, also cheekily added “we’re gonna have a lot of fun tonight after the show”.

In a recent interview with Stellar, Chatfield revealed she was “so emotional” the first time Holiday played the song for her.

“I was also there a lot of the time that he wrote it,” she said during their joint chat.

It comes after Chatfield hit back at a new wave of “abuse and harassment” she faced online for a bikini video she posted.

The clip showed Hyde grabbing Chatfield’s breasts as she sat in his lap while wearing a bikini.

“Appreciate the connection you guys have, but why post this for comments?” one viewer asked.

Another said, “Some things just don’t need to be shared”.

While one claimed the clip was “degrading”.

It prompted Chatfield to hit back at the rhetoric she was facing, saying the term “trolling” didn’t go far enough — it was “abusive”.

“As someone who’s been trolled every day for the past six years, and I’m sure I will be trolled every day until I leave this god forsaken internet, I have noticed a huge change in the kind of trolling that I’ve been receiving,” she said in the video.

“I hate the word trolling, I think it really minimises it – it’s like you’re actually an abuser.”

In her emotional video, Chatfield said the type of comments she now received were making her “feel f**king insane” and “permanently affecting” her mental health, leaving her anxious and depressed.
