Pop singer Samantha Jade has been spotted lining up in Sydney’s inner west to see Joel Creasey’s comedy show.
Samantha Jade, 37, was spotted outside Enmore Theatre, rugged up in a grey trench coat, smiling as she patiently waited to get into the show.
The woman who brought us pop bangers like Solider and Sweet Talk was acting very low-key.
Usually, when you see pop stars, they are surrounded by entourages or getting out of expensive-looking cars; Samantha Jade was just acting like she’s not a woman responsible for iconic lyrics like “Don’t you want to be my soldier?”
So what got Samantha Jade lining up? Creasey’s new comedy show Boom is touring Australia and promises that “nobody is safe” from the comedians musing, including celebrity mates.
It wouldn’t be a shock if they were mates; Creasey already has a few celebrity pals, including Chrissie Swan and pop singer Rickie Lee and considering Australia’s famous circle is so small, it’d make sense if they were friends.
The pop singer wasn’t the only famous person who had come to the show; influencer Abbie Chatfield was also there to show support.
Originally from Perth, Samantha Jade became famous in 2012 by winning the fourth season of Australia’s X Factor. Her debut single, What You’ve Done To Me, debuted at number one on the ARIA Singles chart.
Despite her Perth roots she now resides in Sydney’s eastern suburbs in a gorgeous three-bedroom terrace that she shares with her husband Pat Handlin.
She married Handlin, a former Sony Music executive and the son of Denis Handlin, the company’s former CEO, who left in 2021.
The couple married in 2022 after having to postpone their wedding plans because of the pandemic. At the time, there were rumours they broke up, but Samantha Jade squashed them in an interview with The Daily Telegraph, where she confirmed they were very much devoted to each other.
“We very much absolutely love each other and we are very much going to get married. But there’s no way I can’t have my family at my wedding,” she explained.
When they finally tied the knot, the couple did it in style with a lavish ceremony in Venice, Italy. Samantha Jade posted some stunning wedding photos on her Instagram to over 200,000 followers and wrote: “We did it!”
In general, the couple is fairly private. Besides the occasional snap of them kissing on Instagram, where she refers to him as “my valentine,” the two keep their personal relationship under wraps.
