THE Tasmanian schools that are shrinking in numbers have been revealed.
An analysis of Federal Government data has revealed the Tasmanian schools where student numbers have fallen the most in the past 10 years.
Between 2008 and 2018, enrolment at Sprent Primary School has fallen by 71.8 per cent, the biggest decline of any school in the state.

The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority figures are the most up to date enrolment numbers that include all state and private schools nationally.
According to the latest public data, student numbers at Sprent Primary fell from 85 to 24 over the 10 years.

The second-fastest shrinking school in that period was Channel Christian School in Margate, with an enrolment number of 131 in 2008 falling to 64 last year – a drop of 51.1 per cent.
Avoca Primary School, which is set to close at the end of the year, had the third-highest reduction in numbers, dropping to just 11.4 full-time equivalent students in 2018.
