Tasmanian schools earning the most and least amount of income revealed

An independent analysis of school financial records from the MySchool website have shown the massive amount of money some schools make every year, and how little some schools are forced to scrape by on.
The figures include all fees, charges and parental contributions as well as State and Federal Government funding and any other private sources over the 2015, 2016 and 2017 years.
Tasmania’s school with the highest gross income was The Friends’ School who brought in $86.5 million.
That figure, and the ones for other schools, do not include any deductions for income allocated to capital works or debt servicing.
The school with the second highest income in Tasmania was St Patrick’s College, which had a gross income of $72.7 million across those three years.
Scotch Oakburn College had the third most gross income in Tasmania’s across 2015, 2016 and 2017 bringing in a combined total of $71.1 million.
TASMANIA’S 10 HIGHEST INCOME SCHOOLS IN 2015, 2016 AND 2017:
The Friends’ School: $86.5 million
St Patrick’s College: $72.7 million
Scotch Oakburn College: $71.1 million
The Hutchins School: $67 million
Launceston College: $57.8 million
Launceston Church Grammar School: $52 million
Guilford Young College: $49 million
Rosny College: $45.6 million
Hobart College: $45.3 million
Dominic College: $43.3 million
These are the Tasmania schools with the least income.
Cape Barren Island School made a gross income of $1.1 million over that three year period from government funding, parental contributions and other income sources.
The figures do not include any deductions for income allocated to capital works or debt servicing.
Avoca Primary School was Tasmania’s school with the second lowest gross income, making $1.8 million.
The third lowest gross income in Tasmania was at Wilmot Primary School which made $1.8 million.
