These are the Launceston schools that have improved their NAPLAN results the most in the last five years.

An analysis of five years’ worth of NAPLAN results has revealed the schools that have improved their Year 5 and Year 9 student scores the most.

The Launceston school that improved their Year 5 results the most between 2014 and 2018 was Ravenswood Heights Primary School, in Ravenswood, where the average results across all subjects improved by 6.2 per cent.

Average Year 9 results at Brooks High School, in Rocherlea, increased by 1.9 per cent, the biggest improvement in Launceston.

The analysis compared each school’s combined results for each NAPLAN subject in 2014 and compared to the same results in 2018.

Launceston’s second biggest improvement in Year 5 results over those five years was Youngtown Primary School, in Youngtown, where scores increased 4.9 per cent.

The third biggest Year 5 improver was Punchbowl Primary School, in Newstead, where results increased 3.5 per cent over the five-year period.

The Launceston school with the second biggest Year 9 improvement between 2014 and 2018 was Kings Meadows High School, in Kings Meadows, where results improved 1.3 per cent.

Average results at Prospect High School, in Prospect, increased -0.3 per cent, the third highest increase in Launceston.

Youngtown Primary School: 4.9 per cent

Punchbowl Primary School: 3.5 per cent

Launceston Christian School: 2.4 per cent

Riverside Primary School: 2.1 per cent

East Launceston Primary School: 2.0 per cent

Waverley Primary School: 1.7 per cent

St Leonards Primary School: 1.5 per cent

St Thomas More’s Catholic School: 1.0 per cent

Sacred Heart Catholic School: 0.7 per cent

LAUNCESTON’S 10 YEAR 9 NAPLAN IMPROVERS OVER FIVE YEARS

Brooks High School: 1.9 per cent

Kings Meadows High School: 1.3 per cent

Prospect High School: -0.3 per cent

Riverside High School: -0.4 per cent

Launceston Christian School: -0.8 per cent

Queechy High School: -2.6 per cent

John Calvin School: nan per cent
