ONE Launceston school received more than $56 million in State and Federal Government money in three years — giving it the highest funding in the region.

The massive amount of money some schools have received from governments can be revealed after an independent compilation of figures from the MySchool website.

St Patrick’s College in Prospect Vale received more money from government coffers than any other school in the region, receiving $56 million over the three most recently available years.

Launceston College received the second highest amount of state and federal government funding with $54.4 million.

Newstead College was the third highest in the region receiving $32.4 million over the three year period.

The figures reveal exactly how much money every school has received from government funding over 2015, 2016 and 2017 calendar years and how much money has been spent on capital projects over the 2015, 2016 and 2017 financial years.

Launceston Big Picture School in Invermay received the most government funding per student of any school in the Launceston region. The school, which had 36 students in 2017, received $29,899 in government funding for each child.

Newstead College received $18,556 for each of its 36 students in 2017, the Launceston region’s second highest funding per student.

Over 2015, 2016 and 2017 financial years, Scotch Oakburn College spent $15.7 million on capital expenditure, more than any other school in the Launceston region.

Over that same three year period Kings Meadows High School spent $7.4 million on capital expenditure, the region’s second highest.

Prospect High School spent $7.2 million on capital expenditure over that period, the third highest in the Launceston region.

Riverside High School: $28.6 million

Queechy High School: $26 million

Riverside Primary School: $22.7 million

Launceston Church Grammar School: $22.2 million

Kings Meadows High School: $21.6 million

Brooks High School: $20.9 million

St Finn Barr’s Catholic Primary School: $8.7 million

St Thomas More’s Catholic School: $9.1 million

St Leonards Primary School: $9.6 million

Invermay Primary School: $11.2 million
