Wallaroo Mines Primary School students quizzed over Tamarin Condon’s school camp conduct

Parents of young kids who have been asked a number of questions about a recent school camp say the lack of information they have been told is “mind-boggling”.

Students at Wallaroo Mines Primary School are allegedly being questioned over the school camp attended by ex-principal, Tamarin Condon and her husband.

A parent – who wished to remain anonymous – said their child had been asked questions about what took place at the camp

The parent also said their child was asked generally about the camp, the Condons and whether Mr Condon made them food.

Ms Condon was stood down from her role in November following complaints from parents about her decision to bring her husband on school camp, despite neither of them being on the approved list of adults attending.

Ms Condon has since resigned from her position and will not return to the school in 2026.

The Advertiser understands that parents have been told that images that their children are in are under investigation but have not been provided with any more information about what the photos actually depict.

“We’re made to feel like we’re making a big deal of nothing, but they’re not giving us all the details and it’s confusing and scary,” the parent said.

“It’s honestly mind boggling.

“We really have no clue if it’s just the ones we’ve seen … or if they have taken photos on their personal phones and I’m not sure we’ll ever know.”

The parent said they were told to “only support” their children during interviews and not mention the photographs to them.

“It’s all very strange,” they said.

SAPOL said they are aware of “this matter” but “no criminal offences have been disclosed at this time”.

An Education Department spokesperson confirmed an investigation into the camp conduct was underway.
“The Department for Education is investigating concerns raised about Wallaroo Mines Primary School, including matters connected to the recent school camp,” they said.

“It would not be appropriate for the department to provide a running commentary on individual allegations while this work is underway.

“However, there are no photos that are cause for concern and SA Police have confirmed there is no police investigation at this time.”
