Scotch College, Walford Anglican School for Girls reveal $34k+ fees for year 12 in 2026

At least three Adelaide private schools will charge more than $34,000 to put a child through year 12. So which college is now SA’s priciest? See the list.

Two more of Adelaide’s top private schools have revealed they will charge parents more than $34,000 to put a child through year 12 next year.

Walford Anglican School for Girls, in Hyde Park, will raise its fee to $34,220.

That is up 5.2 per cent on this year’s cost of $32,520.

Scotch College, in Torrens Park, will charge $34,040 – up 6 per cent on the $32,120 it charged parents this year.

The Advertiser has analysed fees at Adelaide private schools which have been published online or communicated in letters to parents.

Pembroke School retains the mantle of South Australia’s most expensive private school, charging $34,944 next year for years 10 to 12.

Other schools to release their fee schedule include Pulteney Grammar School ($33,074), Immanuel College ($25,020), Loreto College Marryatville ($22,845) and Saint Ignatius’ College ($22,483).

The school with the greatest percentage increase to be released so far is St Mary’s College.

Year 12 tuition there will cost $11,525 next year, up 8.7 per cent from the $10,600 it charged in 2024.

That followed a 8.1 per cent rise the previous year.

About 54,000 students are enrolled in independent schools across SA.

The Association of Independent Schools of South Australia (AISSA) says about 70 per cent of an independent school’s income is allocated to staffing costs.

About 52,000 students are enrolled at 101 schools under Catholic Education SA (CESA).

CESA has frozen fees at the majority of campuses for the past four years.
