See where Australia’s secondary students are getting an outstanding public education with this complete collection of each state’s Top 100 Public High Schools list.

Here are the top-ranked public high schools for every state, from News Corp’s new data-driven education rankings.

Australia’s Top 100 Public High Schools have been ranked based on a formula that assesses academic results, student-teacher ratios, student engagement levels, average fees and the Index of Community Socio-educational Advantage (ICSEA) scale.

NEW SOUTH WALES

The top-ranked school in NSW – and the nation – is also one of the most unique. Conservatorium High School is Australia’s only government-run specialist secondary school for musicians, but maintains exceptional academic results while teaching pupils the art of musical performance. VICTORIA

Suzanne Cory High School in Melbourne’s western suburbs was ranked the best school in Victoria. It’s a selective-entry school and its principal says students “know they are part of a supportive, caring community and that sense of belonging empowers them to take risks and strive for excellence”. SA’s largest school won the prize of being the best school in the state. Glenunga International High School now has a hard-earned reputation for academic excellence after a substantial overhaul in its teaching approach since 2008. READ THE FULL STORY

WESTERN AUSTRALIA/ACT

Because News Corp has no publications in Perth or Canberra, we did not create a full top 100 list for these regions.

However, WA had nine entries in the national top 100 list – Perth Modern School (ranked at 10); Rossmoyne Senior High School (23); Willetton Senior High School (27); Shenton College (46); Applecross Senior High School (48); Mount Lawley Senior High School (65); Churchlands Senior High School (78); John Curtin College Of The Arts (79); and Leeming Senior High School (99).

The ACT had two entries on the national list – Telopea Park School (ranked at 70) and Lyneham High School (89).
