Supermarket giant IGA has launched its first home delivery service to help support older and more vulnerable customers during the coronavirus crisis.

Exclusive: Supermarket giant IGA has launched its first home delivery service to help older and vulnerable customers.
The new IGA priority shop announced today has been rolled out to help support customers including the elderly and vulnerable across its 1400 stores.
This means those people who are unable to leave their home are still able to get essential grocery packs delivered to their front doors.
IGA’s National Retailer Council’s chairman Joseph Romeo said: “It’s important we all support our communities in this challenging time.
“The IGA priority shop service is definitely not going to be perfect but we had to come up with something for our locals in need.
“It will be a bit clunky as we aren’t experts at home delivery but we wanted to do everything in our power to ensure that our locals in need don’t go without.
“We will get better once we are up and running.”
Supermarket giant Woolworths and Coles have also rolled out similar programs for vulnerable and older customers.
