25 Rosalie Martin

This former Tasmanian Australian of the Year is a speech pathologist with more than 30 years experience who is now helping both children and adults with literacy challenges including inmates in Hobart’s Risdon Prison. Her Just Sentences pilot project is having spectacular results. Ms Martin also operates a private practice through which she helps those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and supports their families.

24 Stephen Creese

Mr Creese runs a large 3500ha farming operation in northern Tasmania and is one of the state’s biggest potato and livestock producers. He is also managing director of the Clovelly Tasmania operation, which includes 8000ha spread over five properties in the North East and Northern Midlands. One of these is the Clovelly Dairy at Bridport which milks more than 3500 cows. Mr Creese is a member of the Red Meat Updates working group which is focused on using the latest technology and research to help livestock farmers increase production.

23 Jo Cook

Fast becoming one of the biggest names in Tasmania’s foodie scene, Ms Cook is the food curator for the Dark MoFo winter feast and an advocate for the increasingly-popular slow food movement.

22 James Johns

A third generation automotive dealer, James John has continued the legacy of his father Michael at the helm of DJ Motors since his death in 2015. DJs now employs more than 100 people and has new car dealerships for Mitsubishi, Nissan, Kia and Mazda, as well as used cars operations. The company recently bought the Hobart Autohaus business which has the BMW and Renault franchises.

21 Andrew Cohen

Thrust into the unenviable role as chief executive of the infant formula company Bellamy’s Organics following a massive price crash, Cohen has embarked on what will be a slow reversal of fortunes for the Launceston-founded outfit.

The Dux of his class at the University of Cambridge, Cohen says he knows the task is tough at the once-widely lauded success story, but says the rebuild is on the right track.
