Zenith is set to begin drilling as it launches a scoping study over Dulcie Far North
Last upgrade returned a 40% contained metal increase and demonstrated scope for expansion
Zenith also looking at neighbouring projects to add critical mass
Special Report: Zenith Minerals is all approved and set to begin new drilling and a scoping study over its Dulcie Far North gold project in Western Australia’s Forrestania Greenstone Belt.
The last drilling returned a 40% resource increase to 210,000 ounces of contained gold at 1.3g/t over the maiden tally, and Zenith Minerals (ASX:ZNC) sees room for expansion through more targeted drilling of the footwall domains.
Now set for the next round, the company will also scope both a standalone operation and toll treatment option in parallel over the fully owned project.
The campaign is slated as a 32-RC and 5-diamond hole campaign to better classify mineralisation and expand its resource.
A review of historic data has identified multiple new targets in fully held exploration licenses surrounding the project, but those will have to wait for further soil sampling before being subject to the drill bit.
Zenith is also looking at lithium pulps for gold while peering over its fence at neighbouring gold projects to see if there are more potential ore sources to bolster its production potential.
Finding Forrestania
Dulcie Far North sits within the 364km2 of ZNC lithium territory known as the Split Rocks project in the Forrestania Greenstone Belt.
The belt is prospective for both white gold and the traditional yellow stuff, but with lithium in the doldrums and gold trading at record prices, it seems an easy choice to explore the latter.
Proof is in the pudding for gold at multiple nearby multi-million-ounce operations, and Zenith sees a likely processing option at Barto Gold’s Marvel Loch.
Covalent Lithium’s nearby Mount Holland mine has been one of few Australian lithium operations to go ahead through the downturn, and major upgrades including a newly sealed road add logistical benefits for companies like Zenith.
The company is looking to add ounces on the other side of the country, last month releasing impressive intercepts from its Red Mountain gold project in Queensland encompassing 23m at 1.49g/t from 48m, including 2m at 11.3g/t gold from 55m.
