Good morning, and welcome to Stockhead’s Top 10 at somewhere near 11-ish, which is meant to highlight the best (and sometimes worst) performing ASX stocks in morning trade using live data, to provide a short, sharp update to help frame the trading day by showing the biggest movers in percentage terms that have made announcements.
The market opens at 10am (eastern time) and the data is taken at 10:15am, once every ASX stock has started trading.
Briefly, here’s what’s been happening already this morning.
The ASX 200 tripped and fell right out of the gates this morning after Iran unleashed 200 missiles on Israel, with the latter vowing to retaliate. At the time of writing, the ASX 200 is attempting to dust itself off (-0.086%).
Crude prices subsequently spiked to their highest in more than a year, safe-haven gold jumped by a percentage point and otherwise an unease has settled over markets for the moment.
Meanwhile, US data shows a surprising rise in job openings to 8.04 million in August as we inch closer to the all-important US election with the biggest economy in the world in balance.
At the time of writing, too, the two US presidential VP candidates – Tim "Jazz Hands" Walz and JD "Cat Lady Baiter" Vance are about to square off in another big, televised, election debate.

Here’s what’s moving and shaking on the ASX at the time of writing…

In the news this morning we have archTIS (ASX:AR9), a global provider of data-centric security solutions for the secure collaboration of sensitive information.
Somewhat topical, as its share price move is based on a military/defence angle, with the company announcing the signing of a $2.3 million contract to expand NC Protect licenses with the Australian Department of Defence.
This follows on from the $700K services contract awarded in June 2024 and, says the company, establishes its NC Protect product as the data-centric security option of choice for Defence SharePoint on-premises deployments.
