A NEW taxi service is looking for dedicated drivers in Tassie to chauffeur all manner of cute and cuddly animals to grooming appointments and vet check-ups.
Australian company PetCloud has expanded its pet sitting, doggie daycare and home visit services to now include the Pet Taxi app.
Animals from dogs to guinea pigs can ride without their owners to appointments with insured drivers who have undergone police-checks and trained in animal handling.
Tasmanian pet owners will be able to track their pets’ journeys via GPS and book a lift on demand or up to 72 hours ahead.
PetCloud CEO Deb Morrison said so far more than 1,100 drivers were available Australia-wide to “drive Miss Daisy to her next appointment”.
“Pets bring so much joy and comfort to people’s lives and we don’t want anyone to miss out on that special relationship because they can’t drive or have a busy job,” Ms Morrison said.
“By offering a pet taxi service we’re paving the way for more Australians to be able to care for a pet regardless of their life situation.”
Ms Morrison said demand was high with around 30 million pets in Australia and welcomed more drivers to join the new Tasmanian service.
The PetCloud Pet Taxi App is now available via Google Play or the App Store.
