IN a first for Tasmania, a national meal-kit delivery service has been launched in the state, with the first deliveries to arrive in the Hobart and Launceston areas early next month.
Marley Spoon is a service that packages ingredients for evening meals into a box customised to the customer’s taste, including recipe cards with each meal package.
Co-founder Dave Malcolm said just one day after sign ups were opened, Marley Spoon already had a couple of hundred Tasmanians register.
“It has taken us a while to develop the process where we can deliver to Tasmania and guarantee customers the quality,” Mr Malcolm said.
“That was of paramount importance to us.”
Marley Spoon is accessed by customers online where they can order the number of meal packages and the type of recipes desired.
The produce is sourced across Australia, Mr Malcolm adding that sustainable, seasonal produce is a focus.
