KPMG has bought Adelaide SAP firm Think180

KPMG has bought Adelaide SAP consulting firm Think180 for an undisclosed sum.

Specialist SAP consulting firm Think180 has been acquired by KPMG for an undisclosed sum.

Think180 which was founded in Adelaide in 2007, employs more than 30 people and provides asset management, compliance and analytics solutions to clients such as Bridgestone, Powerlink Queensland and other major Australian utility and mining companies.

KPMG Australia chief executive Andrew Yates said in a statement SAP was a world leader in business technology and the professional services firm was investing heavily in the space.

“By combining KPMG’s capabilities alongside Think180’s, we are creating one of the leading SAP intelligent and enterprise asset management specialist teams in Australia,’’ Mr Yates said.

“This acquisition underlines the firm’s commitment to technology transformation capability and merging expert capabilities with a ‘whole of business’ mindset to support our clients.”

Think180 chief executive John Schultz said joining KPMG would allow the fir to “level up” after a strong track record in delivering solutions for clients.

“KPMG shares our ambition to create a world-leading SAP solutions business right here in Australia,’’ Mr Schultz said.

“By merging our teams and linking in with the depth and breadth of business, technology and compliance expertise within KPMG – we are taking a massive step on this journey.”

Mr Schultz and his co-founder in the business Stephen Silver will join KPMG as partners.

Their fellow co-founder Peter Butler will join the firm as a principal director.

Think180 has teams located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne which will become part of KPMG’s existing SAP technology team, headed by partner, Pauline Doherty.

“The acquisition of Think180 reflects KPMG’s commitment to providing industry leading SAP services to meet the needs of the Australian market,’’ Ms Doherty said.

“Think180 has already established itself as a leading player in the assets and works space. We are excited to add their expertise to our existing team and further enhance KPMG’s unique, business-oriented approach to SAP implementations.”
