Kids yoghurt pouch recall over choking fears across Australia

AUSTRALIANS have been advised of a national recall of popular children’s yoghurt product over choking fears.
The NSW Food Authority reports that
Parmalat Australia has recalled Calciyum, Woolworths & Aldi Brooklea yoghurt pouches sold at various retailers including Woolworths, Aldi, Metcash/IGA, Foodworks, Foodland, Friendly Grocer 4 Square and/or Farmer Jacks stores nationally.
The recall is due to a packaging fault resulting in a potential choking hazard.
The products being recalled are:
Calcium 70g pouches
Banana: August 21 and 28, 2017, September 5, 11, 18 and 25, 2017, October 3, 2017
Vanilla: August 20 and 28, 2017, September 4, 11, 18 and 25, 2017, October 2, 2017
Strawberry: August 21 and 28, 2017, September 4, 5, 11, 12, 19, 25 and 26, 2017, October 2 and 3, 2017
Fruit Salad: August 21 and 28, 2017, September 4, 11, 18 and 25, 2017, October 2, 2017
Woolworths 70g pouches
Vanilla: August 21 — October 3, 2017 (inclusive)
Banana: August 21 — October 3, 2017 (inclusive)
Strawberry: August 21 — October 4, 2017 (inclusive)
Aldi Brooklea Yoghurt 150g pouches
Strawberry, Vanilla, Tropical: August 20 — September 24, 2017 (inclusive)
Consumers have been advised not to eat this product, and are entitled to a full refund.
The recall comes just days after the company also recalled of Tamar Valley Dairy Kids Yoghurt 110g pouches due to faulty green-coloured caps.
The products recalled two days ago include:
*Tamar Valley Dairy Kids Tropical All Natural Greek Yoghurt, 110g, metallic pouch, Use by August 20 through to September 25 2017 (inclusive)
* Tamar Valley Dairy Kids Vanilla All Natural Greek Yoghurt, 110g, metallic pouch, Use by August 20 through to September 25 2017 (inclusive)
* Tamar Valley Dairy Kids Strawberry All Natural Greek Yoghurt, 110g, metallic pouch, Use by August 20 through to October 1 2017 (inclusive)
Consumers have been advised not to eat these product s either and can claim a full refund.
“The centre top of the green cap may become dislodged upon reapplication of the cap after initial use, and pose a choking hazard,” a statement read.
“The product can be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.”
