Skydiver in hospital after power line strike in Lower Light

A skydiver has been rushed to hospital after colliding with power lines in South Australia.

A skydiver in South Australia's mid-north been raced to hospital after colliding with power lines.

Emergency services were called to Lower Light about 12pm on Saturday to reports of a skydiving incident.

It’s understood a man suffered leg and abdominal injuries but was not electrocuted when he struck power lines while attempting to land.

He conscious when emergency crews arrived and was flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

It’s understood he is in a stable condition.

Adelaide Skydiving Centre’s Richard Timperon said the man landed out of the drop zone, with centre staff arriving at his location within a minute.

“We’re not actually quite sure what happened, but he’s landed off the drop zone, and he’s had a hard landing,” he told 7NEWS.

“As far as the parachute itself, it was open, and flying normally.”

He said the man was one of their “newer skydivers”.

An investigation into the incident has been launched.
