A family friend told 7NEWS Oraiha’s father was distraught at losing “his world” and his only son

The family claimed to have no idea how or why Oraiha was targeted.

Oraiha is believed to have worked as a barber and was studying project design and had been pre-arranging a wedding with his family.

Oraiha’s 16-year-old sister was at home with his mother at the time, both of whom are now not allowed to leave, the friend told 7NEWS.

The Daily Telegraph reported Oriaha was believed to have low-level links to the Comanchero‘s outlaw motorcycle gang, but was not an active member.

“There are very loose links there, but nothing that would indicate he is a member or heavily involved in the gang, just that he might know some of the members,” a source told the publication.

“He is certainly not someone who was prominently on our radar by any means.

“At this stage it is way too early to say what this could be about, but it has all the hallmarks of an organised crime shooting.”

A crime scene has been established and an investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Shortly after 4pm, residents reported a burnt out car in the nearby suburb of Green Valley.

Only six minutes later, a second car was reported to be ablaze on Lewis St at Bonnyrigg Heights.

NSW Police commissioner Karen Webb told Today host Karl Stefanovic the shooting was “very brazen”.

“At the moment, it is a very open investigation,” Ms Webb said.

“We have three crime scenes that we are processing.

“It is very early days and detectives are still on the ground.”

Ms Webb confirmed that police believed the three crime scenes were linked.

Officers attached to the high-profile anti-bikie outfit Taskforce Erebus will investigate any links to organised crime.

The incident comes after a series of high-profile shootings which experts warned have reignited Sydney’s gangland wars.

Taha Sabbagh was allegedly shot 10 times in front of a teenage boy outside of a Sefton gym in March.

A burnt out car was found in the nearby suburb of Green Valley.
