A neighbour has described the heart wrenching moment she was alerted to the ordeal, sharing the haunting four words she heard.

‘Tragic scene’ as missing Gold Coast mum Wendy Sleeman’s body found in Brisbane

A young girl’s desperate screams were heard coming from a home moments before her mother was found severely injured inside.

Mother-of-two Emmerick Lasakar, 35, died in Royal Perth Hospital on Monday night after being found with multiple injuries at her home on Knutsford Avenue in Kewdale.

A neighbour told 9News she was alerted to the ordeal when she heard screams ring out across the neighourhood.

“It was her mother – she was screaming ‘mamma mamma mamma, no no no, pick me, kill me’,” the neighbour said.

“Then screaming again, like massive bad awful screaming, that was the worst”.

According to The West Australian a young child had been the one to put a desperate call into triple-0.

When police and paramedics arrived Ms Lasakar was found with severe injuries.

They performed first aid before she was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital.

She died soon after.

WA Police commissioner Col Blanch said the scene was confronting “not only for officers but for the kids”.

“It is a tragically sad day for the family,” he told ABC Perth radio.

About 45 minutes after police were called to the property, a 37-year-old man who was known to Ms Lasakar was arrested in the backyard of a St James home.

Police are trying to piece together the series of events that allegedly took place over the course of the hour.

The man allegedly crashed his grey ute on Berwick Street before fleeing into a nearby home.

He remains under police guard in hospital, although no charges have been laid.

At some stage that night, a petrol station in East Victoria Park was allegedly held up by an armed robber.

Police said they are investigating a possible link between the robbery and the alleged matters.

Detectives are seeking information from anyone regarding the man’s movements between Kewdale and St James.

Anyone with dashcam footage, CCTV or mobile phone video is asked to contact police.
