Police launch Christmastraffic blitz
Police are gearing up for a high-visibility operation to drive down the rate of fatal and serious traffic crashes.Drink driving, speeding, seat belts, fatigue and distraction will be in keen focus in Queensland Police Service’s Operation Mistletoe, through to January 25, 2024.The current year is on track to be one of the worst on record for the QPS Southern Region, which includes the Darling Downs, South West Queensland and Ipswich, with 54 lives lost on our roads.This is down from 57 last year, but still well above the six-year average of 48.
