FRUSTRATED by lack of access to his children, a 34-year-old man had threatened to post sexually compromising photographs of his ex-wife on social media, Toowoomba Magistrates Court has been told.
The couple had been together about 12 years before separating about six weeks ago and a domestic violence order was in place, the court heard.
Though he was not allowed to contact his ex-partner without written permission from her, he had texted her on Sunday complaining about lack of access to his children and then threatened to post sexually explicit images of her.
He had then sent a screen shot of a photograph of the woman to her mother, saying she might be interested in seeing how her daughter cared for their children, police prosecutor Shelby Larcombe said.
The man had also been seen attending the woman’s home and checking the mailbox, in breach of the order.
He spent Tuesday night in the watch house before pleading guilty to four counts of breaching the order.
Duty solicitor Kyna Morice told the court her client was ashamed of his behaviour, particularly in sending the screen shot to the woman’s mother.
Her client had no previous of like nature and no criminal history for 15 years, she said.
Magistrate Roger Stark fined the man $900 but ordered no conviction be recorded.
