Leadfoot teenager caught doing 84kmh over the speed limit

A DALBY teenager caught doing more than 80kmh over the speed limit had a novel excuse for police who pulled him over.
The 17-year-old was clocked doing 184kmh in the 100kmh zone on the Warrego Highway near Dalby about 1.30pm yesterday.
Sergeant Sean Donaghy of Dalby police said it proved costly for the teenager who was handed a ticket for $1245.
“He also lost eight points and had his driver’s licence disqualified for six months,” Sgt Donaghy said.
When asked why he was driving at such a high speed, the lad had replied that “his dog had just died”, Sgt Donaghy said.
Police are reminding drivers to drive to the conditions and the within the speed limit.
